Best site for Fantasy Football?

Postby footballhog5 » Tue Aug 10, 2010 5:24 pm

Hi, I'm new to Fantasy Football. What are some good websites to play Fantasy Football?

What features do you guys look for when selecting a Fantasy Football site to play? I am trying to make an annual league with some friends from college. Thanks for all of the feedback and help.

We use cbssports.com which is costly but has everything you could dream of, including an iphone app.
But again, the cost has us debating every year whether it's worth it.

Fleaflicker is about the most popular free site among Cafe regulars.

5th year with Yahoo and they are great. Alot of free add-ons this year that used to cost in the past. VERY easy to set up and play.

Yahoo is hands down the best fantasy football site I use. I'm in 9 leagues this year across the following sites, and I prefer yahoo.

CBSsportsline
NFL.com
Myfantasyleague.com
yahoo.com

I tried a bunch of the free sites last year to compare, and yahoo is still my go-to site for free fantasy football. The interface is simply well done. I especially like the watchlist, which is a feature missing from a lot of the other free sites.

ESPN - also nice interface. Lots of linked info and articles, which is a plus.
fleaflicker - good interface as well. I like the prominent info about percentage add/drop for each player week to week. Gives you a good idea of trends. Not the best place to get a random public league going, but ok if you have guys in a league just looking for a site to use.
cbssports - dunno what the differences are between the free league and paid league. It works, but nothing spectacular.
fox - awful buggy website. maybe they've improved it, but putting something that bad out there the past couple years does not inspire confidence.

If you're willing to pay, I'd recommend MyFantasyLeague over cbssports.

Yahoo! hands down. I've been in 3 leagues for the last 5 years, including Fox & CBS.
Fox was horrible. CBS had glitches and is just really clunky overall, but has a few better features than Yahoo.

Things Yahoo has going for it:
- Started giving away StatTracker Plus
- best interface
- best Player Profiles / News, but I get fantasy analysis from CBS
- easiest to manage and be commissioner of

I strongly prefer Yahoo. Fox just sucks, CBS and ESPN are OK but just aren't as nice as yahoo to me.
