T.J. Houshmandzadeh

Postby bungle613 » Wed Aug 11, 2010 10:00 pm

According to ESPN's Mike Sando, T.J. Houshmandzadeh's body language in camp has "occasionally suggest(ed) a disconnect."

Sando's story is positive on Houshmandzadeh, but there is underlying negativity. It sounds like he's lost some first-team reps to rookie Golden Tate, and Housh was seen "sulking" after a pass went to Deion Branch instead of him earlier this week. With new coach Pete Carroll stressing competition at every position, Housh is not assured of remaining an every-down wideout.

This is the 2nd report this week I have read about Housh sulking and acting like a diva/baby. The first one went back to his Cincy days and flat out called him a diva.

Seahawks are trying to trade Housh

The Seattle Seahawks like their emerging wide receivers and have made it know that veteran T.J. Houshmandzadeh, a top free-agent signing by their prior regime in 2009, is available, league sources said Thursday.

The market for Houshmandzadeh is very limited, according to the sources, for the same reason the Seahawks are looking to move him -- his salary. Houshmandzadeh is guaranteed to earn more than $7 million this season and is coming off an unproductive year. Executives with teams that are in the market for receivers say they have no interest in taking on Houshmandzadeh's contract.

Looking like Minny will at least make a decent run after him since they have cut Javon Walker to make room for TJ. That would look pretty stout if they do get TJ signed for late season and playoffs with TJ, Rice, Harvin and Berrian. I fully expect Minnesota to end up with TJ tho.

T.J. Houshmandzadeh to join Ravens

By Adam Schefter

In a surprise move, the Baltimore Ravens reached agreement with former Seattle Seahawks wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh on a one-year, $855,000 deal, according to league sources.

Seattle still owes Houshmandzadeh $6.15 million, meaning the receiver will make a total of $7 million this season.

Houshmandzadeh had multiple opportunities but ultimately decided to join a team in the same division as the team that drafted him -- the Cincinnati Bengals.

Houshmandzadeh now will join a stable of wide receivers that includes Anquan Boldin, Derrick Mason and Donte Stallworth.

Baltimore now will have to shed one player from its roster.

Does this give Flacco a bump up?

I don't think it'll bump Flacco up, considering Stalleworth is out until late October. I'm curious about whether this devalues Mason or Boldin. How much will TJ impact their numbers?

This is an interesting move for Bal....I see Housh's value dipping. Who will he be challenging for the starting gig?......Clayton? At best a #3 WR at this point.
