Won this league last year, but won it with an aging team and a team that some guys are no longer 'the guys'. I still want to challenge for back-to-back, but don't want to waste good young talent for a try at something that might not be possible this year.

Roster: (Pick FOUR) I have stars next to guys that I'm thinking are in the running:
QB- Alex Smith **** RB- Marion Barber **** RB- Beanie Wells **** WR- TJ Housh **** WR- Derrick Mason TE - Brent Celek ***** K- Neil Rackers LB - Jerod Mayo DL - Andre Carter DB - Champ Bailey DP - Lance Briggs DP - Justin Durant
BN - Ricky Williams **** BN - Clinton Portis BN - Terell Owens BN - Ahmad Bradshaw **** BN - Kurt Warner BN - Kevin Walter BN - Chris Chambers BN - Richard Seymour
TE and QB are going to be deep for a long time to come. And we just don't know if TO still has gamebreaker ability. Would suck to have given that up if he does.
I would go Beanie (look at how he ended last year), Bradshaw (Jacobs won't be healthy all season again), I like Ricky (with The Marshall in town both Brown and Ricky should see a lot more action, especially with safeties backed off), and Mason (I know a lot of people don't like Mason's workman style numbers, but he consistantly puts em up and with Boldin in town I think behind Rice, Mason benefits the most.)
I always like having a strong RB core be the main force of the team, but like you said, it's tough to know whether to keep some people since you dont always know who everyone else is going to keep.
1) Marion Barber- Injuries are a little concerning, but he's the main RB in a system that has a good passing game. Felix Jones is good, but he's the change of pace guy; so the only time he'd take big points from barber is if he busts a big play, which wont happen a crazy amount.
2) Beanie Wells- Hightower might take some points, but he's had his time to prove he could be the main RB and theyre still looking to replace him. Wells has the best chance to take most of the snaps. Plus its not like hightower will take all the goalline since wells can get the short yardage gains..he impressed me the few times i saw him.
3) Bradshaw- He's good enough to keep even if he splits time with jacobs, who's getting less impressive
4) Celek- I have a hard time picking a TE and would favor keeping a WR or QB. TE's just dont score that much in fantasy football. But I dont trust housh. Mason is tempting, but you could draft him pretty late (the guys old but he always manages to get 1,000 yards, and looks as good as he did last year). And I think Smith is easily replacable.
I would try to get TO later in the draft though..think he's in for a really good year
