had a burst..nice to see him playing fast again

i have shonne greene...so it does worry me a little. i know its just the first preseason game..and the JETS run it more than anybody...but i have to admit LT scares me a little

Good, I hope everyone else thinks LT will be a decent factor and let Shonn Greene fall to me at the end of the 2nd. One of the announcers said he thinks LT will take away about 100 carries from Shonn Greene. This will leave Greene with only about 350 carries. :-D

I'm only worried about LT taking away goal line touches. I know the carries will be there for Greene, but I was looking for him to get into the endzone double digit times this year.

I admittedly didn't watch the game, but his stat line was 8 rushes for 17 yards (2.1 avg) with a long of 5 yards. The dude is crazy washed up. Maybe the dude carried you to a FF championship in 2006 and you have a soft spot for him, but the guy is terrible now.

he had a 15 or so yard TD that looked good that was called back. and it was against the first string DEF id assuem bc it was the 1st or 2nd possession

surley didnt looked washed up...he looked fresh or at least to me he did

and it looked like Sanchez will be dumping to him a lot

I've long defended LT's slow demise and yes, it's probably because of those championship winning years.

What I saw of him during the game didn't look quite as good as the OP is making out, although that catch/TD that was called back looked much closer to vintage LT than he has in the past two years.

I do think there are a handful of people who are seriously undervaluing the difference the Jets O-line will make vs. the Chargers O-line. Those are the same people who think Thomas Jones is going to light it up in KC too (and probably will defend his 2 carries for 2 yards in *his* preseason game).

I'm not saying LT is going to (or should) get 100+ carries this season, but I do think he'll be a viable option for the Jets at the goal line and a great 3rd down guy. He'd also be an instrumental part of an RBBC with McKnight if Shonn Greene were to get injured.

maybe because he is in better shape then last year with no injuries.Also could be motivated because his wife is pregnant with his first son. Not to mention a good o line

Please keep this thread alive and well. I will try to find other ways to get the LT hype train on track. Perhaps Greene will hardly play in much of the pre-season and LT will go nuts. That would be awesome.
