14 Team Non-PPR WHIR

Postby LMack » Thu Aug 19, 2010 10:06 am

14 Teams, standard scoring non-PPR. Had the second pick overall.
QB, 2RB, 2WR, 1RB/WR, 1TE, 1D/ST, K, 7 bench slots.

First impressions:
Wish I got a better backup behind Ryan.
Not sure about my 1 and 2 WR's, but I think I have 3 solid bench ones.
Grant/Jennings is kinda eh, but I couldn't pass up Grant that late.
With some decent depth on my bench I am looking to upgrade at QB2 or WR2.
Anything else you guys see?

I really like your team, especially in a 14-team league. CJ will keep you in most games, and your two packers are both solid for their respective roles (RB2 and WR1), even if I wouldn't count on either of them to carry a team. I also think you have really good depth at RB, by taking the best matchup between Best (who I like this year a lot), Hardesty, and Bush, you should be able to get a decent score out of your flex every week (the only downside is that having RBs on bad teams can be frustrating as they usually don't run a lot late). I'm not crazy about Bowe, but there's a decent chance either Hester or Floyd will emerge. You will need to get good production out of your RBs and WRs every week as you aren't that strong at QB or TE, but you should be able to do it...if possible you might want to try to trade Hardesty or Bush along with Ryan or Carlson to upgrade at one of those positions.

Thank you very much for the response.
I am actively looking for an upgrade at QB, and may be able to grab someone along the lines of Favre for the right price. If I can't upgrade at QB1, I will try and just upgrade over Alex Smith. I'd feel alright with Ryan/Roethlisberger.
As far as Carlson goes, he was the 12th TE off the board, I figured I would go for some upside. My TE spot shouldn't make or break me this year.

Not a bad team, you must’ve been stoked to see CJ drop to you, who went first overall in your league, A. Rodgers Or A. Peterson? I think that you are going to be pleasantly surprised by both Floyd and alex smith. Seattle I hope will surprise some as well. If you are looking to upgrade QB I’d try to package up both a QB and one of your receivers, possibly after the first breakout game by either Jacoby Jones or Malcom Floyd and you should be able to get at least a farve/Palmer type of QB.

I agree 100% you need a better back up behind Ryan. The falcons love to run the ball. I like your wr jennings should definitley find the endzone more, floyd is going to be a main target of rivers with jackson out, not a big fan of bowe but he has potential, jacoby jones may beat out walter in houston. Running back is solid too CJ and Grant, plus bush who is going to out do mcfadden, hardesty should be ok alongside harrison, best will be the number 1 in detroit and gerhart is a nice handcuff if AP goes down.

Solid squad for a 14 team league thanks for the help w/mine.

I def like your depth at running back, espectially obviously CJ. i woudl be a little woried about the wide receivers. hopefully dwayne bowe can step it up this year with another year with cassel and now charlie weiss. i like alex smith as the backup. i think their offense is going to be better than people expect with a full year from crabtree and gore. i have smith as my backup to ryan also actually.
