I have second pick in our 12 team league. I KNOW the guy who has first is taking CJ, so the entire board is open to me. I was already sketchy about AP with Jackson running the offense, now that Farve is back I have to consider him again.
AP has a punishing running style that leads to fumbles and injuries. Every team that saw the Saints tee off on Farve know what they need to do to beat the Vikes. If Farve goes down no one is respecting the pass, Peterson becomes the target. Im not in a PPR league, however, Ray Rice still seems like the safer pick. Peterson has a slight hamstring problem right now and its only preseason. Is AP really the obvious pick between the two for everyone else?

Take who you want, but most people will assume AP to score probably twice the TDs RR will. And AP caught over 40 balls last year, so you can't even say anymore that his lack of receiving hurts him. Even if AP has an "off year", they'll finish close in total yards. The TDs make AP the better choice. Very few people believe RR would finish the year as the #1 RB, but AP could easily do that. All RBs have significant injury risk, so I wouldn't put too much weight on that - don't turn down extra points and a ton of upside for a "safer" choice at RB.
Plus, the Vikings probably learned something from being pass-happy at the end of last year. I think they go back to running the ball...a lot.
