Sydney Rice's trade value?

Postby dblj9911 » Sun Aug 22, 2010 12:00 pm

I'm in a dynasty league and have had S. Rice for a few years and he finally paid off for me last year, but he has had knee problems and now the injured hip. Do I try and trade him now or hold on to him and hope he has another good year with Favre and then trade him?
I don't need him to be a top wr for me, I have three other studs and can live without him. Any thoughts? We have our rookie / free agent draft coming up in a few weeks and I have no first round pick, I have 2.7 and 3.7. Thanks for any ideas, WHIR
We start 1qb, 2rb, 3wr, 1te, 1k, 2 idp, standard scoring, 0.5ppr, 6pts all tds.
MY ROSTER:

RB- AP, DWill, Benson, R.Brown, M. Bush, Caddy, C. Taylor, B. Scott

K- Longwell
IDP- Willis, Beason, Ryans

I'd hang on to him. His trade value right now is very low, he may not even be ready to start the season. Your league starts 3WR, which means he's your first backup for injuries and bye-weeks, which will probably start happening right when he's getting back up to speed. I wouldn't want to have to start Schillens or Massaquoi if I could help it. See what he does when he gets back on to the field, I think you're going to end up starting him more than a few times this year.

Yea, I agree with the above poster. If anything, he'd be a decent guy to trade FOR and get him at a cheaper price.

So I'd hang onto him and expect good things from him and favre. But if you find yourself out of the playoff hunt i'd trade him when his value is up (assuming it will rise..i dont see why it wont with him and favre getting along so well last season, and now questions are surrounding harvin). Because I'd assume a huge drop off from him once/if tavaris takes over next year

If you're in the playoff hunt i'd just keep him and try to win it all. Then deal with next year during the offseason to see if you want to get rid of rice or if jackson magically gets better at passing down field
