Rate my team and I will respond in return

Postby ergofrog » Mon Aug 23, 2010 10:43 am

I am in a 8 team auction draft eague that has PPR, 1 pt per 10 yards rushing or receiving, .5 pt per 10 yards passing, 6 for TDs, and .5 pt per reception.

Here is my team:

Romo QB Cowboys
Flacco QB Ravens
Petterson RB Vikings
Jones-Drew RB Jags
Thomas RB Saints
Foster RB Texans
Forsett RB Seahawks
D.Brown RB Colts
Hightower RB Cardinals
Boldin WR Ravens
Bowe WR Cheifs
Sims-Walker WR Jags
Wallace WR Steelers
Floyd WR Chargers
Gates TE Chargers
Crosby K Packers
Packers DEF Packers

I went hard and heavy for RBs and then have some flyers later. I have one roster spot left that I can pick up a players. Is there a position I should target? Any sleepers that might be out there?

for a PPR league you could really use an upgrade at WR...I think Boldin is going to be overrated this season. See if you can ship some of your stud RB's for a solid WR

Help??

Your WR are pretty weak. you could try trading some of your RB depth to pick up another WR.

Potential sleepers at WR i think are:
- Pierre Garcon,IND, I honestly think he will have a better season then Reggie Wayne. Last year in the playoffs he had more receptions and yards then any other receiver.
- Johnny Knox,CHI, some one needs to catch passes in Chicago and i think he will be the guy.
- Jacoby Jones,Hou, I think he will work his way into the number two spot in Houston across from Andre Johnson/

hopefully i have helped. your team is pretty solid. but if u want to make a pick up or trade this is what i recommend.

Thanks for helping me.

I have to agree with the consensus at WR being your weak spot. QB's are solid and your RB's are outstanding.

I would agree on the sleeper WR mentioned and might add Legedu Naanee, Devin Thomas, and James Jones to the list. I would pick one of these guys up and possibly target a trade for a more consistent WR with one of you RBs since you have so much depth.

QB: 9 (romo is a solid starter. flacco should only improve with boldin there)
RB: 10+ (AD and MJD...wow, just wow)
WR: 8 (def ur weakest area but some decent depth...i would consider using ur depth at RB to pickup someone solid)

overall: 9 (ur RBs alone can carry u...and u have a very solid QB....ur WRs are decent but ur TE makes up for it...u really dont have to do much in terms of trades but if u do u can prolly get a better WR by trading a RB)

Gotta agree with whats been said. Trade some of that RB depth for some stud RB's since its PPR. Not really sure how you got that depth at RB but good draft haha.

Thanks everyone for responding. This is the beauty of auction drafts. You can target what you want and it is as mush about strategy of knowing when to stop bidding when the price gets to high and who to nominate. It is way better than any snake draft. Here is the complete results of the draft. As you can see, some teams blew their money on a few players and will be hitting waiver wire hard while others have a full roster. I started strong and then got patient which is how I got the RB depth but was hurt at WR. It is really fun to see the second teir RBs go for as much as the top since managers get desperate and over spend.

I may have to go against the grain here and say that by securing the RB positions that you have you can afford to start the receivers that you‘ve got. Not sure if you are starting 2 WR and a flex or 3 Wr but Boldin, Bowe, and Sims-walker will be just fine and will probably end the year each with at least 150 points or more in a PPR league, I actually think Boldin will be the best of the bunch. Floyd will be in that exact same conversation but with even more upside especially if V. Jax gets traded or is otherwise held out of games. The cool thing with Floyd is that even if Jackson comes back Floyd will only move to #2 on the depth chart in Diego and he’ll still be a viable # 3 WR. If this were a team gifted to me I wouldn’t make a move on anything until one of those Bench RB’s has a monster game (Forsett in week 5 against the Rams, Foster in week 6 against KC or Thomas Week 7 against Cleveland, they might bust a huge game before then but those are the most favorable match-ups to give you good leverage in a trade), then toss them on the block and wait for the offers to come pouring in. If you feel like you absolutely need to shop for a new WR before the start of the season you’ll end up selling some of those guys like Forsett and foster too low, but those are the backs on your team that as of right now I would consider expendable.
