I'm playing in a league where QB passing TD's are worth 6 pts and receptions are worth 1/2 pt. I've always avoided QB's until at least the 6th or 7th rd. Last year I ended up with Schaub and Warner and it carried my season. A few years back I ended up w Rivers and Cutler and it worked out ok. This year I waited a bit too long and QB's were flying off the board while I stacked my WR/RB talent. I ended up w/ Matt Ryan and Alex Smith. Is this something I should be worried about in a 6 pt TD league? Both of these guys have great upside, but I feel Ryan may suffer most b/c of how often ATL runs the ball near the GL. I'm wondering if I should go ahead and propose a trade to upgrade one of my QBs before the season starts. Here is my lineup... if you have any suggestions, please post them here. Thx in advance guys!
QB - M. Ryan, A. Smith WR - Megatron, Moss, S. Smith, M. Floyd. M. Williams (TB) RB - S. Greene, Forte, J-Stew, F. Jones, Sproles TE - Cooley
2010 12-team .5PPR QB - Ryan, Vick RB - S. Greene, Forte, Stewart, F. Jones, Sproles WR - Moss, Megatron, NYG Smith, Floyd, M. Williams (TB) TE - Cooley D - CIN (week to week) K - Bironas
I've definitely changed my philosophy on strictly drafting a Quarterback in the late rounds, but it still isn't a problem if you do it. Never reach for a QB, but I see no problem taking a top QB in the earlier rounds anymore, as it can sometimes make a very large difference. That being said, however, I think Ryan and Smith are a more than capable duo in a 12 teamer. You do have some depth at other positions however, so if you feel that you need to trade, you could try to package S. Smith (since I think Floyd should have a huge year) or Felix for one. It would probably help if you posted what positions you start, though.

Thx for the reply guys.. I'm just overthinking things a bit here and probably not giving Ryan enough credit. He's primed for a pretty solid year... I should know being an ATL homer. We start: 1QB 2RB 3WR 1FLEX (WR/RB/TE) 1D 1K
2010 12-team .5PPR QB - Ryan, Vick RB - S. Greene, Forte, Stewart, F. Jones, Sproles WR - Moss, Megatron, NYG Smith, Floyd, M. Williams (TB) TE - Cooley D - CIN (week to week) K - Bironas
Right, this is where the lineup comes into play. If you start 3 WRs and a flex in a PPR, don't trade away Smith (even though you never clarified which one, despite putting the TB next to Mike Williams). So I'd trade a RB with a QB (again, only if you REALLY think you need a QB upgrade). I'd pick Felix, but Forte or JStew could work too depending upon who you are trading with likes.
