Montario Hardesty

Hardesty originally got hurt in late July. According to this, the Browns expect him to be ok.

Montario Hardesty disclosed that his right knee injury was a bone bruise sustained during one-on-one tackling drills on the last day of Browns' rookie camp in late July.

The injury is unrelated to Hardesty's 2005 knee reconstruction. He won't play in this week's game, but he could see action in the Sept. 2 preseason finale against the Bears. Hardesty insists he'll be ready "way before the opener," and coach Eric Mangini is confident that he won't need "a ton of reps" to catch up. He already has a good handle on the offense after a strong spring.

BEREA, Ohio -- Cleveland Browns rookie running back Montario Hardesty practiced Thursday for the first time since injuring his right knee during a pre-training camp workout.

Hardesty sustained a bone bruise to his knee during a 1-on-1 tackling drill before Cleveland's veterans reported to camp. Hardesty said he hurt his leg while making a cut.

Browns coach Eric Mangini said Hardesty, who has had a history of knee problems, will be limited in practice as the team prepares for Saturday's third preseason game in Detroit. Mangini said Hardesty is questionable against the Lions "with the arrow pointed down."

The Browns traded three picks to Philadelphia to move up in April's draft and select him in the second round (No. 59 overall). Hardesty rushed for 1,345 yards last season at Tennessee.

Hardesty at practice. Though, the history of knee injury comment above scares me a bit from wanting to take him.

Per Rotoworld:

Hardesty debuts, leaves with left knee injury

Montario Hardesty left Thursday's preseason finale in the second quarter with a left knee injury.
Hardesty, who looked terrific with 25 yards and a touchdown on seven totes before the injury, was able to walk off the field and into the locker room under his own power. While any injury is a concern for a player with as checkered a history as Hardesty's, the good news is that this is not the same knee that's troubled him all camp. His previous injury was to his right knee. In the game, Hardesty displayed impressive quickness and power between the tackles. He started, playing ahead of James Davis and Chris Jennings. So much for the Hardesty hype:
Updating a previous item, further tests reportedly confirmed that Montario Hardesty is out for the season with a torn left ACL.

The Browns were counting on a major contribution from Hardesty as a rookie. Jerome Harrison will now enter the season as the feature back with Peyton Hillis possibly entering the picture as a short-yardage specialist. Hillis saw first-teams snaps ahead of James Davis throughout August, though the latter is a better stash in Dynasty leagues.

Hardesty has torn ACL - out for the year

Why is it that these things always happen hours after I draft someone?

Luckily the next guys in line should still be on the WW - Now you just have to choose if you want P Hillis or J Davis

Giving Hillis a spin as it seems everyone is mildly surprised by his abilities/production.

I'm guessing that Jerome Harrison is going to get a majority of the touches, although I'd grab James Davis just in case.
