12 Team PPR with 12th Pick

Postby JonLesterFanClub » Wed Aug 25, 2010 6:14 pm

This is a 12 team PPR money league that's been going strong for 5 years among friends.

Let me know how you think I did. I'll take a look at yours in response. I picked from the turn so with 12 and 13 I grabbed White and Austin. AJ, Moss, Wayne, and Calvin were already off the board. I took PT at 3.12 and Romo with 4.1. Rodgers, Brees, Manning, Brady and Schaub were all off the board and I didn't want to wait until the next tier. I got a gift of Beanie Wells at 5.12 and then Bowe at 6.1. Both i though were great value. I didn't expect to end up with two good backs after taking two WR's with my top picks. My next picks were also great value I think Felix Jones 7.12 and Michael Bush 8.1. Next turn i took LT at 9.12 and Slaton at 10.1. From then on I filled out my roster. I think this team should be very good and hopefully I'll have enough RB depth to make some trades and possibly upgrade TE or something else.

Thanks!

QB: Tony Romo
WR: Roddy White, Miles Austin, Dwayne Bowe

TE: John Carlson

I’m not sure what you are hoping to do with all those Texans, In a 12 team league I’m sure that Jason Snelling would have been available off waivers if he became relevant. I think you’re really going to enjoy Michael Bush this season if McFadden for the love of Christ would just get out of his way, I say that as endearingly as I can knowing it’s not his fault but the abysmal mess that Oakland has become. You might be in trouble in a PPR league with wells but I think you made up for it by snagging Jones and LT either of these guys in the flex spot could be a real boost. Overall I’d say that you are going to be competitive, I’m just not a huge fan of those Texans, you could free up those roster spots for some sleeper types at receiver.

I only see 1 Texan on his roster... unless you're referring to the Cowboys, then yah... Having 3 Cowboys starting each week is putting all your eggs in one basket.

Normally I wouldn't be a fan of this, but in your RB3 spot that isn't too bad, it's not like its your 1 or 2. Also, between having Romo and Austin on your team, you're talking your QB and WR1 there. If Romo has a bad game it's going to be tough for you to win that week. And... if Romo has a good game, that doesnt necessarily mean it's going to be with Austin.

It's risky, but overall those two should connect quite a bit. If you look at the numbers Austin should pick up this year and you throw in QB passing to him, that could add up to some explosive weeks.

This is really going to sting during the bye week though.

You have really solid depth at RB but what do you really need that many RBs for? Unless there were no WRs worth even a flier at that point and you wanted trading leverage, I think you should have focussed a little more on picking up some backup WRs.

Overall a pretty solid team but not without some question marks

He has to mean the cowboys. I have to agree, once the cowboys have their bye week you will be hurting. The only thing that I really have a problem with is your lack of a great RB. Pierre and Thomas are all fine and dandy but they're not stars and even beyond them I'm not sure your team will make up a lot of points. You need to trade for a RB1 instead of having several RB2's and a few RB3's.

Thanks for the feedback guys, I really appreciate it. Week 4 is going to be rough with 3 cowboys on bye and I do tend to go crazy with RB's in the middle rounds. I figure though that outside bye weeks I'm going to start White, Austin and Bowe every week and won't need WR depth unless of course there's an injury. RB's always seem to have the highest value during the season and for trading purposes so I like to stockpile them.
