Where am I weak and should I be worried? **WHIR**

Postby prophecy135 » Sun Aug 29, 2010 1:19 pm

Last year I got lucky and ended up with MJD, Peyton, R. Brown, Frank Gore later after Brown went down, and B. Marshall.. This year I drafted 9/10 and I'm not sure this team is nearly as strong. Please let me know where I am weak and what areas I should look to improve on through the ww.

QB - K. Kolb
RB1 - Frank Gore
RB2 - Ryan Mathews
WR1 - Brandon Marshall
WR2 - Greg Jennings
TE - Jermichael Finley
Flex - Ronnie Brown (wasn't sure about this pick, but he was the best available by far)

Bench
RB - Michael Bush
RB - Arain Foster
WR - Mike Wallace
WR - Devin Aromashodu
RB - Justin Forsett
WR - Demaryius Thomas
WR - Kevin Walter
WR - Mohamed Massaquio

The position I feel most uneasy about is QB, when I drafted there weren't many options, I was targetting Romo or Flacco, but both went a few picks before I would have drafted them.. Only ww options as of right now are Stafford, A. Smith, Henne, J. Johnson, Cassel, and Sanchize.

Thanks for looking! WHIR

I actually like your team quite a bit, especially if this is a 12 team league. You've got great RBs and some good depth there. Your WRs are pretty good as well, though I'm not as high on Brandon Marshall as a #1. Jennings is a great #2 though, and you have some nice depth. Finley at TE is solid, and K and D don't matter. As for QB, I actually like Kolb to be pretty good this year. This is the same offense as last year (except for no Brian Westbrook cheering on from the sidelines), and Kolb did really well when McNabb was out at the beginning of the season.

Overall I think you've done well. Now you just have to get lucky :-)

Help me out?

I'm not either, what with the new team and the run first mentality of said team, but he was the best available option at that draft slot, Megatron went 2 picks before... I was really hopin people were down on him this year

I like your team a lot too.

I wold probaly start Foster over Ronnie though to start since he looks to get a lot of work and have his own backfield.

For QB, you def want a backup. I like Stafford and have him on mine too, pick him up. Lots of upside. Bush was just hurt so maybe you can drop him.

Help with mine? viewtopic.php?f=44&t=470510

I like this team alot. this must be a ten team league no way you can draft a team that good in 12 teams.

i think you're pretty good acroos the board - you'll find your self starting mike wallace before you know it.

I don't think you need to look to make trades right away - take your time and wait for a great offer before you make a move.

Depending on scoring rules, you should be ok. Kolb worries me a bit. I had a lot of faith in him, but a few nights ago he had a horrific showing. And as we know with Eagles fans, if he continues, it won't take long for him to get the hook pulled on him.

You're RBs are solid, though I'm not super excited about either guy. Gore has a tendency to get hurt during the season, and though Matthews is in a prime position, he's still a rookie.

I LOVE Greg Jennings. I can easily see him being a top 5 guy this year. Marshall concerns me. I'm not sure if he'll get a lot of TDs, but I think he'll be targeted a lot.

Finley, should be huge this year too....and Brown I'm also excited about.

For now, I think you'll be ok, during the season your guys could blow it up. One thing I do like is almost all of your bench players have huge upside.

Good luck with your season!

would it be worth packaging Marshall with one of my bench RB's for an upgrade at WR or packaging him with Kolb for an upgrade at QB? I too love Jenning's and think he'll have a great season, Marshall did well for me last year so I'm less worried about him then you are, but he still concerns me with the fins being a run first team with 2 solid backs.

You have a ton of high-upside WRs that all you need for is 1 or 2 to breakout and really make your team. I may try to move one or two of them for some TE and/or QB depth. I am not as high on some on Kolb, so some insurance would be nice.

QB - K. Kolb he is a huge sleeper, but still unproven
RB1 - Frank Gore - great RB V Davis will make the defense more worried about the pass
RB2 - Ryan Mathews - sleeper pick but preseason he looks good
WR1 - Brandon Marshall - New team but a great receiever of course
WR2 - Greg Jennings - :)
TE - Jermichael Finley - :)
Flex - Ronnie Brown (wasn't sure about this pick, but he was the best available by far)

Bench
RB - Michael Bush
RB - Arain Foster
WR - Mike Wallace
WR - Devin Aromashodu
RB - Justin Forsett - I think he's going to show himself to be a solid flex
WR - Demaryius Thomas
WR - Kevin Walter - HOU good bench
WR - Mohamed Massaquio

Doesn't look like you have anything to worry about. Kolb should be fine, Andy Reid wouldn't have shiped McNabb to a div. rival to make room for a scrub. Brown is always a bit worring, but a great talent, and if something goes wrong there, Foster and Forsett are both capable of filling that gap. all told, you have a very good team. congrats.
