Postby sixer03fan » Sun Aug 29, 2010 11:41 pm

Yo guys, just drafted today... Let me know what you think of my team. Where I should look to improve, trade suggestions, etc.

10 Team, Yahoo, pretty much standard scoring
non-keeper, no PPR, no points for return yards

QB: Tom Brady
WR: Brandon Marshall
WR: Steve Smith (NYG)
WR: Percy Harvin
RB: Ray Rice
RB: Jonathan Stewart
TE: Tony Gonzalez
K: David Akers
DEF: Baltimore
Bench: Ricky Williams, Brandon Jacobs, Dez Bryant, Vincent Jackson, Ben Roethlisberger

Does it look strong for a 10 team league? Leave a link and I'll get back to you. Thanks a lot!

Overall all pretty solid. Only major issue I have is Percy Harvin as your flex....that it one player I'm worried about this season. Especially with his headache issue, there is no clue when he might be on the bench or not. I would just be afraid I would lock in my roster, then turn on ESPN later and find out that he was benched 5 minutes before kick-off with a migraine. Luckily you did grab Vincent Jackson. Just keep your fingers crossed he'll be back in week 4. If he is, then you could be very hard to beat.....Get work and Good luck!

Overall pretty good....my only concerns would be J Stew and Harvin. I like holding onto V Jax till he returns...he should jump right into your lineup. I know Steve Smith is a beast in PPR, but I'm not really sure how he ranks in regular leagues.

Overall it looks like a playoff team with some minor ???.

The only bad thing I see here is that after Ray Rice ALL of your RB's are in RBBC's. It could be a matter of seconds and the coach can say, DeAngelo, Ronnie, or Ahmad is going to get all the carries and what may look like 3 good running backs, could be 3 rb's that are riding the bench. I personally would have thoose above 3 mention RB's over yours. I would just like to second all the stuff that has been said about Percy Harvin and hopefully he'll be fine, but i would feel comfortable plugging in Dez Bryant if i absolutely had to. I mean theres alot worse people you could start there.

and thanks for the help with mine.

strong team....
like others have mentioned Harvin is shaky, but as a WR3, thats pretty good. He might be an annoying player to own though, if you have to check on his status up to the last minutes before kickoff. I like the VJax and Big Ben pickups at the end, they could pay off huge in the 2nd half.

I feel like it’s kind of hard not to look strong in a 10 team league but, you have managed to draft some big question marks. I will not jump on the bandwagon with Harvin, It’s Migranes it’s not like this kid has a torn MCL or something and that is how everyone has been treating him on draft day. News Flash the migraine issue is not a new one it’s been something that he’s been successfully dealing with for a long time. No doubt this is going to be a bit of work for you to keep checking on him but at the value you got him I think it’ll be just fine, Shiancoe cannot catch all of Favres passes. I’ll go ahead and announce this for you and anyone else crossing their fingers about V. Jackson, He will not be wearing the Blue and gold again period. This guy is going to get traded or ride the pine this season in SD even if he does come back week 7,
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/stor ... NHeadlines
No one will pay him what he is asking so he will probably have to take a pay cut and still be out the first 3 weeks then he’ll have to come in and learn a new offense and a new QB so at best he’ll be a functional WR3 option by week 6….this guy should not be getting drafted, my prediction is that this guy will be getting cut from most fantasy rosters sooner than later. There are a lot of better WR2 options and in a 10 team league most of these guys are still out there in J. Jones form GB, J. Jones from Houston, L. Robinson STL, Pick anyone from Indy not named Wayne and I think any of those guys will have a far more productive season than Jackson. If you don’t get another WR you need to free up some bench space in Week 5 for David Garrard or Matthew Stafford, both have the best matchups for your QB replacement while Tom Terrific is on his bye.

Sixer, I am not that concerned with Harvin as much as everyone else is. You should be good. Beside you have really good depth. The question area is your rb core. Thats what I would suggest to improve in if you can. Big Ben and V Jax should be good trade bait after they hit the field.

Looks pretty solid as long as Harvin and Stewart are healthy. May be able to deal Big Ben after you don't need him to solidify one of the other spots. If D'Angelo Williams gets hurt and Stewart is the man then you will be tough to beat.
