Am I too RB heavy? Rate my team -- WHIR

Postby tobias2 » Mon Aug 30, 2010 11:49 am

12 team, non-PPR, Redraft. I'm a little skeptical about my squad. Rice fell to me at #6, so clearly I took that. But what about the rest of my squad? And I somehow spaced on a backup QB, but Orton is available on WW so I'll pick him up. Thanks!

QB-Flacco
RB- Rice, Felix, Foster, D. Brown, T. Jones, McFadden
WR- Marshall, Jennings, Maclin, Doucet
TE- Olsen
D- Browns
K- Rackers

Woah…slow down on Orton and check your Matchups (Den@SF week 8) you may be able to hold all of these guys until week 7 where you drop your lowest performer and pick up Matt Moore depending on how he’s doing to beat up on the Rams, Matt Cassel to beat up on the Bills, or Matt Hasselback to handle the raiders….

Now with your backs in a 12 team league this is looking pretty good, I do not like McFadden, wait scratch that I do not like Oakland, they have a perpetual allergy to success and until that changes anyone on their roster is a gamble at best. I may not be the first to tell you but there are guys in Washington sniffing around for starting time, add a guy like Torain to your scout team and see, Doucet should have been a great sleeper this year but the QB situation in AZ makes taking anyone other than Fitz a huge risk. I like J. Jones in GB Mike Williams in TB and L. Robinson in STL. I think all these guys have much bigger upside this season than Early and probably went undrafted in your league.

I love your RBs. Foster should be solid this year. Good WR as well. Jennings could perform like a WR1, so to have him as your WR2 is nice.

I agree with the previous poster. Sit tight on the backup QB at this point. As you get closer to your starter's bye week, make an evaluation. Moore could be a solid by week replacement.

Good work, you should contend nicely.

Thanks for the help on mine!

I think a lot really depends on Flacco's performance. I'm not a huge fan of Olsen but at least you didn't reach for a TE. You should be guaranteed to have at least two very productive RB's out of the group so you're set there. The WR's look like they're in good shape as well. I might try and package a running back someone may be looking to handcuff and Olsen (T. Jones to J. Charles owner) to upgrade at TE or add another WR with high upside. It's obviously early to tell but you've at least set yourself up for success depending on the moves you make during the course of the year..

I don't think you're RB heavy at all. You really only have two starting running backs-with the injury to bush mcfadden may have a chance to step up, but the rest are splitting carries.

I'd hang tight. As another poster suggested, I'd drop Doucet for Mike Williams if he's available, possibly Robinson as well. Don't worry about a backup QB just yet. Flacco should be great, and you have until his bye week to figure that problem out.
