Last year, I got 2nd place. That would be nice if it weren't for that being the case four times. I actually got second place four times in one year. I figured my problem was the sporadic success of my players, so this year I aimed to draft undisputed starters. I did well early on but I started petering off and now I've got a group of consistent, solid-number players and a group of sporadically awesome players. In my league there's 1 QB, 2 WR, 2 RB, 1 TE, 1 DEF, 1 K, and 1 FLEX (RB/WR/TE) to start. Currently my lineup looks like this:
QB: Joe Flacco
RB: Frank Gore
RB: Cedric Benson
WR: Reggie Wayne
WR: Hines Ward
TE: Antonio Gates
DEF: Cowboys
K: Mason Crosby
Now it goes downhill...
FLEX: Robert Meachem
BENCH: Marion Barber
BENCH: Laurence Maroney
BENCH: Dwayne Bowe
BENCH: Earl Bennett
BENCH: Devin Hester
BENCH: John Carlson
BENCH: Chad Henne
I want to put up consistent points. I have absolutely no faith in Maroney and although I know Meachem will put up points, I have no idea WHEN he'll put up points. Ward is a little worrisome but he should put up decent points. Bowe, Bennett, and Hester are all sporadic players. Barber splits time and I don't know how much I can trust him. Carlson is an undisputed starter but his quarterback is scary. Henne's fine.
I want my FLEX to be an anchor that puts up solid numbers every week. He doesn't have to be an explosive playmaker. Who do you suggest I put in there? Should I trade some of my players for a safe bet? Thanks.
