Perennial Loser, how about this year? WHIR!

Postby Deesul » Mon Aug 30, 2010 11:49 pm

So I play fantasy games with the same group of guys in both baseball and football. I dominate our baseball league but haven't finished higher than 7th in our football league in as many years!

So, how did I do this year? Standard 10 team, yahoo h2h league. I picked 9th, overall pick listed in parenthesis.
Starting slots are: 1 QB, 2 WR, 2 RB, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 DEF/ST, 1 Flex

QB: Tony Romo (32), Matt Ryan (89)
WR: Andre Johnson (9), Wes Welker (52), Dwayne Bowe (72), Jeremy Maclin (109) and Mike Williams (129)
RB: Rashard Mendenhall (12), Ryan Grant (29), Beanie Wells (49), Ronnie Brown (69) and Jerome Harrison (112)
TE: Visanthe Shiancoe (92)
K: Rian Lindell (149)
DEF: NYG (132)

How did I do? I feel pretty good about it, I especially like my bench actually.

Looks solid to me.

10-team league means you're probably competing against some stacked teams too, but I agree that you have depth as well, which will help.

Shiancoe and Giants' DST are the only two spots in that lineup I'm not sold on, and in fairness a below average (for fantasy at least) but still producing TE won't kill you given your strength at other positions and DST is a good spot to be playing matchups and looking for out-of-nowhere adds early in the year anyway.

You may end up with 4 top-20 RBs in that group -- hard to argue with that as a position of strength should you need to make a deal down the road.
