Will Cutler Kill my Team?

Postby vykeengfan » Tue Aug 31, 2010 12:29 am

10 team, 3 player plus 1 rookie keeper league. My keepers were:
Turner, Rice, Moss and Beanie. After the draft (8th slot in each round) I ended up with:
QB: Cutler
RB: Turner
RB: Rice
WR: RMoss
WR: Boldin
Flex: Mathews
TE: Witten
K: Stream
Def: Stream
Bench: Mcnabb, Ward, Mason, Wallace, RBush, TJones, Beanie, Burleson, Walter
Standard scoring plus .5 ppr, 6 pts/passing td.

I love my starters at rb, wr, flex, and te, and love my depth at rb and wr.
What's scaring me is my qb spot. I gave up Brady for the #1 overall pick (Mathews), and am now wondering if I messed up. I'm hoping playing matchups w/ Cutler/Mcnabb won't kill me. Cutler poor preseason + Mcnabb already injured = :-o

dont beat yourself up. in your leagues format, being keeper and all, i think you've really got something with matthews. if he plays to his potential, you've got a big play threat that gets consistent touches on a team that wins games, creating more carries as they kill the clock. cutler could thrive in yet another new system and i'll be hoping with you that he finally matures and starts throwing the ball to the guys on HIS team. otherwise, you're solid. with the right ww moves, you should be in the playoffs.

I wouldn't worry too much because I think you have a pretty solid team. QB is the only weak spot, if you can even really call that weak. Cutler will put up average numbers this year, and so will McNabb. Niether will be in the league of Brees, Manning, or Rodgers but they'll be good enough to help you win your games.

Check my team out, and see what you think!

Awesome team. No weaknesses anywhere IMO. I think Cutler will be fine for you. With Martz, I think Cutler will have a big year, certainly solid enough to backup the points you will get at all the other positions. McNabb has a great schedule and will be a nice plug in depending on matchups. Mathews was a nice pickup in your league format. Nice job ;-D
