This was a live draft and overall I had the 9th pick. Honestly I feel horrible on how I did. Maybe i was drinking too much. I was 1 of the only 3 people that were drinking. It seems like the guy in front of me would always get the guy i was aiming for. but whatever.
1. Frank Gore 2. Randy Moss 3. Larry Fitzgerald 4. Tony Romo 5. Joseph Addai 6. Mike Sims-Walker 7. Beanie Wells 8. Brandon Jacobs 9. Jahvid Best 10. Jay Cutler 11. Chris Cooley 12. Devery Henderson 13. Chris Chambers 14. Devin Hester 15. Lawrence Tynes
I don't like my running backs at all really. I think Frank Gore is way overrated. I don't think i have a stud running back at all. Since then i have dropped devin hester for kellen winslow since i'm not really confident in chris cooley. Also i dropped devery Henderson for Arizona DEF.
for the #9 pick, i think you got some good guys. a few reaches, but you will definitely be able to win some games.
gore is fragile, but he's still a stud running back. you were lucky to get him at 9. assuming you start 2-3 rb's, you should have plenty of production from gore and the committee of addai, beanie, jacobs and best who could be a huge steal.
your starting wides are good, but i'm not big on sims-walker this season. i'm sure he'll provide admirable bench numbers.
overall, you have a team that can win. just keep an eye on the wire.
Personally I think you did pretty well, and don't have too much to worry about. Your top WR are of course studs, and I'm thinking that Gore will have a pretty decent year. Agree with the other post that Addai, Beanie, and Jacobs will give you pretty solid numbers coming out of the RBBC. And of course Best is the wild card....the reach could pay off! Lastly, Romo will have a decent year as he usually does and has another great weapon with Dez in the lineup!
I am not a huge fan of this team. I think you got a STEAL though to get Gore, I also like moss, but then the Fits pick seems like it will hurt you. He has no one to throw to him. Then taking Romo there was probably too early. Your team has small upside IMO, but it will be a solid team.
Honestly, I like your stable of RB's, its actually pretty deep. I like Gore as long as he can stay healthy all year. He does play in the SOFT NFC west so I think he's got all the opportunities in the world to produce like a stud. Definitely a steal at 9. With Addai, Best, Beanie and Jacobs, you can definitely rotate each week depending on matchups. I like Best A LOT this year and Beanie is set to carry that offense. Don't forget Addai's 1000+ yds total and 13 TDs last year. All in all, I think you're decently well off at RB. Your WRs are hit or miss. Moss is solid every year, but nothing but ?'s around Fitz, and Sims-Walker is 'eh'. If MSW produces like he did last year then its not all that bad.
I agree with the previous poster though, about grabbing Romo at Rd 4. Unless QB's were flying off the board, you could have grabbed a lower tier QB (Flacco for example) and have spent that pick on a WR (or RB if you still aren't confident). Cooley could be a surprise, but keep an eye on the waivers to see if anyone can outperform him.
Given the fact that you were drinking, drafting at 9th helped you with your RB depth I think. A decent job in my opinion. I'd appreciate it if you'd rate my team as well. Thanks!
I think this is text book drafting and find it hard to believe this is your first time. Im not a fan of your last three receivers (I think their upside is limited and I prefer to go high upside at those spots, e.g. Gaffney, Mike Williams (TB), Legedu Naanee). But other than that, I love your drafting, round by round. I think Cooley is a steal in the 11th, hes flirted with top 5 TE status every year and that was before DMac or the shanahans got there. I think Cooley ends up being the favorite target and primed to repeat Owen Daniels stats pre-injury. Most of your players are also going to walk through their cake schedules: Gore, Addai, Beanie all have top 5 easiest schedules and this isnt including the electric Jahvid or bounce back candidate Brandon Jacobs. Your first two receivers are all-world, but thats where the talent drops off at receiver. I think you did good in picking up Kellen to back up Cooley and like Arizona's schedule for Defenses.
The move I would make here is trade Mike Sims-Walker and Addai for a receiver like Anquan Boldin or Dwayne Bowe and change. I think that solidifies your team. I think youre set with Gore, Beanie, Jahvid and BJacobs and think that both Addai and MSW are a bit overvalued.
