In my 10-team league, I took Pierre Thomas over Ryan Matthews and Shonne Greene in the 3rd round. He would be my flex spot with Ray Rice and Mendenhall as my RB1 and RB2. Am I crazy for passing on Matthews and Greene?
Maybe I am over analyzing but this is my thought process
Ryan Matthews - great situation but unproven. Should approach 250 carries. Without V-Jax, should see more 8-man fronts and Marcus McNeil hasn't signed. Won't catch a ton of passes with Sproles there.
Shonne Greene - We all know the Jets have a mauling O-line, and they will run the ball but after watching LT light it up the other night, I think he will get more touches than people think.
Pierre Thomas - Plays for the best offense in football. The Saints will score a ton of TDs and PT should get his share. No more Mike Bell and Lynell Hamilton. Ladell Betts doesn't scare me (I'm a Redskins fan). PT may not get 250 carries but should at least get 200 and he sure makes the most of them with a career 5.1 ypc. He just needs to get the carries and he should. Did I mention he is a decent receiver out of the backfield?
I really think he has a great year in 2010 as long as he is getting the Goal line carries. Every fantasy cheatsheet I've seen has PT Cruiser ranked several spots below Matthews and Greene. I hope I made the right choice.
What say you all?

12-team PPR QB: Cam Newton, Andrew Luck RB: Lesean McCoy, Darren Sproles, Marcel Reece, James Starks WR: Percy Harvin, Julio Jones, Eric Decker, Randall Cobb TE: Aaron Hernandez, Brandon Meyers D/ST: Rams (streaming) K: Matt Bryant
PT in the flex isn't a bad play, but remember that Mathews doesn't have anyone to vulture the TDs from him. i personally would've taken Mathews, but i hope it works out for you! PT will be solid, but my concern is that Reggie's looking strong...
i like pt over greene bc LT has looked pretty solid and i'd have pt and matthews pretty close though i may have given the slight edge to matthews cant fault your logic just have to get the saints to give pt the damn ball he is a beast
I have been bragging up Matthews since the Chargers drafted him and watching him this pre season has not changed my opinion. This kid is the real deal and he is in a great situation. i think that he will easily be a top 10 back this year. Also, I think S. Greene is in store for a great year. The Jets have the best o-line in the NFl, Greene is going to have a lot of big holes to run through.
i do like Pierre, but the Saints are a pass first team. Also, Reggie is going to steal some touches. I have no problem with you taking Pierre, but I would not have taken him over Matthews and Greene
Dude. Terrible! It's like you were given the choice of three free cars, a Maserati, a BMW, or a PT Cruiser (purple), and you went PT after a heavy analysis of the tax burden. I do wish you luck though. But it's not like you need it, cause you're already stacked at RB. Personally, I hope Matthews is a total bust.
12 team H2H league, standard scoring, no PPR. QB: Cutler, Kitna RB: All Day AP, CJ2K, F.Jax, R.Brown, S. Greene, Dixon WR: G. Jennings, Roy Williams, M. Williams (sea) TE: J. Tamme Def: Denver K: Hartley, Carpenter
Not terrible, its not going to hurt you too much since PT is your RB3, but i would much rather have Matthews over PT, even though im a huge saints fan.
I totally agree with getting PT over Greene, i am very low on greene this year, i think he is a waste of Depth Chart space. His only upside is being healthy.
For real though, only way i would draft greene is in the 6th round.
