A MAN survived a six-floor plunge from a Manhattan apartment building overnight when his suspected suicide attempt was thwarted by a parked car, police and witnesses said.

"He looked like a pretzel," said Anthony Monteforte, a contractor who was working nearby and heard the victim crash onto a Dodge Charger sedan parked on West 63rd Street.

That's crazy stuff... when you fall six storeys, you General Lee don't survive.

Crazy stuff indeed! Six stories should have been more than enough to do it, but this guy really lucked out. Let's hope he finds a way to get better and that he doesn't go up a few more stories next time (and, of course, that there isn't a next time in the first place) ;-D

As Cartman would say "Thats Weak"

This chick has him beat.

JAT stewardess Vesna Vulović survived a fall of 33,000 feet (10,000 m)[4] on January 26, 1972 when she was aboard JAT Flight 367. The plane was brought down by explosives over Srbská Kamenice in the former Czechoslovakia (now Czech Republic). The Serbian stewardess suffered a broken skull, three broken vertebrae (one crushed completely), and was in a coma for 27 days. In an interview she commented that, according to the man who found her, "...I was in the middle part of the plane. I was found with my head down and my colleague on top of me. One part of my body with my leg was in the plane and my head was out of the plane. A catering trolley was pinned against my spine and kept me in the plane. The man who found me, says I was very lucky

I wonder what his speed was when he hit the car. 50% terminal velocity?

Not a believer in the concept of suicide attempt myself. If you really want to be dead, you would be. Anything short of certain death is a pathetic cry for attention. IMHO.

That being said, this guy is very inconsiderate for ruining the other guys car during his cry for attention.

I dunno man. If he had jumped off a 2 story building I'd agree he was just "crying for attention." However, dude dove 6 stories...I'm pretty sure he fully expected to die.

Well, cry for help. And I guess pathetic is in the eye of the opinion holder.
