A Foster for M Schaub? WHIR

Postby BearsFan65 » Thu Sep 02, 2010 12:34 am

Less than two hours after my draft, I'm already thinking deal. 12 team PPR league, we play QB, 2RB, 3WR, TE, K, D/ST. All TD's = 6 pts. QB's get 1 point per 40 passing yards. My roster:

QB - E Manning
RB - ADP, R Mathews, A Foster
WR - R White, D Bowe, M Floyd, J Gaffney, Jacoby Jones, D McCluster
TE - Z Miller
DEF - NYJets
K - D Carpenter

Had planned on a WR in round 3, Mathews fell there, I grabbed him. Planned RB in the 5th only if I had 2 WR's already, only had one, but Foster fell so I grabbed him as well - just too much value. Now I'm looking at my roster and wondering if I should make a deal before I do anything else. Another team in my league has RB's of B Wells, J Forsett, R Bush, B Jacobs. In other words, he's hurting at RB. His WR's and QB are solid: Schaub, M Austin, R Moss, P Garcon.

So I wonder - if I offer my A Foster and E Manning for his M Schaub and R Bush....am I improving? Am I giving up too much? And is it too soon to be thinking about this? WHIR, thanks!

I doubt he accepts, but this helps your team. Both Foster and Bush would sit on your bench. And Schaub is better than Eli. S yes this improves your team, and no you are not giving up too much.

I dont mind it...big boost to your starting lineup...but if anything happens to your #1/#2 rbs ur starting Reggie every week. Scary. Still, Schaub would make you quite formidable every week. I WOULD try to add at least some depth to your RB's though off the waiver wire if anyone is available and if you have room on your roster....but either way.....I would go ahead and see if he accepts.

Mine?

Well yah you're clearly improving. Schaub is a relatively steep upgrade over E Manning and Foster is going to be on your bench not getting you points (that's hard to swallow. He's gonna be amazing this year but you can't start him over Mathews or AP)

Bet you wish this league had a flex spot.

Anyways... While it benefits you... He gets a much bigger improvement in his offense. The gap between Schaub and Manning isn't as big as the gap between Foster and his current RBs.

I can't see how he would t take this

A better trade for you would be Foster+Bowe+Manning for Bush+Austin+Schaub

His RB situation isn't just bad, it's terrible. He might accept that out of sheer desperacy for a solid RB... Especially while all this hype about Foster going around.

Yeh, you would improve, if you think Foster is a bust.

If you can get Schaub for Eli and Foster, then do it, but if Foster ends up with 1200/10, do not be surprised. You start 2 RB and look good there but you are risking that God's gift to RB's, I mean Matthews, pans out. He is good, but to trade Foster away at this point in time, might be a mistake.

if you get time, take a look at my post, thanks

Just to close the loop, I offered the deal, he declined. Going to sit on Foster and see how it develops. If all goes well, make a deal for a WR with someone hurting at RB. Thanks for the help, all.
