Nov 21 Thomas Jones opened some eyes and dropped some jaws last Sunday when he rushed for 134 yards on nine carries against the Packers. "I'd already proven to myself and everybody here that I can make plays," Jones told the Orlando Sentinel. "I've been successful since I've been in the league. The people here know what I'm capable of." Coach Jon Gruden has taken notice and plans to give him more carries this week. "The hard part is that Michael Pittman's had a very good year," Gruden explained. "He's catching the ball, and he's a versatile back who can run and do some things, protection-wise, that we need done at this time. . . . We do want more out of Thomas Jones, and hopefully this week will be another opportunity for him."
Views: It looks like Tampa is turning into a running back by committee city and that means less value for both. If you had to choose one at this point, though, it seems like Gruden still favors Pittman a little over Jones.
