Rate My Team (12-Team, Non-PPR)

Postby Chuong9 » Thu Sep 02, 2010 8:03 pm

12 Team, Non-PPR...

QB: Jay Cutler (6.06)
RB: Ray Rice (1.07)
RB: Jamaal Charles (3.07)
WR: Calvin Johnson (2.06)
WR: Anquan Boldin (4.06)
TE: Jermichael Finley (5.07)
K: Ryan Longwell (12.07)
DEF: Philadelphia Defense/ST (11.06)

BENCH: Brandon Jacobs (8.07)
BENCH: Fred Jackson (9.06)
BENCH: Donald Brown (13.06)
BENCH: Mike Sims-Walker (7.07)
BENCH: Kenny Britt (10.07)

I'm a little worried about my quarterback situation, but all of the elite ones were taken early. The problem is that QB's get 6 points for a touchdown in this league, rather than the normal 4. I'm also a little worried about my depth on the bench. What do you guys think?

Welcome to the cafe Chuong9 ;-D

For a 12 man your team looks solid. You only start 2 WR so your core of CJ, Boldin, MSW and Britt should be fine. You have the best TE IMHO and your starting RB situation should be more than enough to keep you competitive. You have a couple of high risk/ high reward RB's on your bench....and yup I'd be a little concerned about Cutler too..although it's not for the points awarded for TD's. If your league dings you for INT's you are going to be in a world of trouble. I'm in the same boat as you in one of my leagues. QB's flew I got stuck with Cutler as well. I'm going to let him start against Det for the opener and if he doesn't show me anything....I'll be the first to bail. Cutler maybe talented but that O line gives him no chance.

who's on the wire for QB?

good luck

I really appreciate your help. I have pretty slim pickings remaining. Jason Campbell, David Garrard, Matt Cassel, and Mark Sanchez are the most notable. I was considering dropping a bench player for a back-up QB, but I'm not sure if it's really worth it at this point.

I'm going to sleep for today, but I'll be sure to check up on this thread tomorrow morning.

I agree. Your team looks pretty solid for a 12 man league. I had MSW last year and he looks like a toothpick and is about as durable. I learned this the hard way. But, if he's healthy he's good. Britt has had questionable work ethic and doesn't have a stellar QB. So, those two WRs are kind of iffy right now for me. But, overall it looks like a solid team.

As for Cutler. Yeah, I'd be a little worried if your league has high penalties for INTs. He had about a 1:1 ratio of TD to INTs last year, so for every 6 pts you get for TDs, you might lose 2 for an INT. He was throwing to some short receivers last year, and young ones at that. I believe Greg Olsen was his only over 6' receiver, now he has Aroshamodu also, so I think his INTs will go down. Either way, with a guy like Cutler, you'll definately want to be watching the waivers and see who becomes a hot QB. Garrard will be at least serviceable. Sanchez and Campbell are no go's IMO. Is Alex Smith available? I also think Matt Cassel might have a shot. None of these are a better bet than Cutler, but they might be good to hold as a QB2 and see what plays out.

Thanks for the input. However, Alex Smith is not available. I was hoping Kolb would drop to me in the sixth round, but he got picked a few spots ahead of me. Anyways, I'm not sure if any player on my roster is worth dropping for one of those QBs at the moment.
