Is 5 too many?

Postby bbalevic23 » Thu Sep 02, 2010 9:45 pm

I am trying to work a trade with a guy in my league right now, but we cant seem to get a deal working unless its a 5 for 5 trade. Problem is, I remember several years back, the commish in my old league saying " damn guys, 5 player trade, why not just trade your whole darn team away, next time draft the people you want etc etc". Anyway, thats always stuck with me and I dont know if I should try to work a 5 for 5 trade. Please let me know if this size trade is ok and what u think of the trade overall and if its fair. thanks

I give: Peyton Manning, Justin Forsett, Michael Bush, Wes Welker and Knowshon Moreno.

I get: Aaron Rodgers, Deangelo Williams, Steve Smith(car), Green Bay Def and Ryan Lindell(I need a kicker)

I am in an 8 team yahoo redraft league. all tds are 6 points, 10 yards per point rushing and receiving. No ppr.

Bad trade, especially in an 8 team league. In a deeper league, it would be more debatable but I still don't like the looks.

The QB's are roughly even, but I think you get a slight upgrade. The big problem, is that in an 8 team league, you're getting a big upgrade at RB and an upgrade at WR by including 2 of your bench players. Not fair for the other guy, especially if he doesn't have Bush or Forsett starting.

If you really want to swing a deal to free up a spot for a kicker, I'd try something like Moreno/Moss for Smith (CAR). You get a big upgrade at starting WR with Knox moving to the bench and can start Foster instead of Moreno at the flex. If he needs the RB, I think you both win.
