I drafted 3 QBs

Postby shawngee03 » Fri Sep 03, 2010 7:48 am

last night i was hittin the sauce before and during my draft...so come mid rounds i was pretty tanked

i drafted Rivers bc i didnt really like anybody that was available at the time...so why not right

come RD 10 i felt like my starting lineup was good and i had 2 backup RBs already....and i saw cutler was still there. so why not. i usually dont get a backup QB if i have a good one i feel comfortable with, as ill just pick someone up off FA for my bye week. but i didnt really need anything...so what the hey lets get cutler

well the next round i saw Eli was still there, so w the same rational i scooped him up too. 12 teamer...so you have to assume some of the other teams were waiting to pick up a QB late....haha...i taught them :-b

so yeah....im laughing at myself this morning for having 3 QBs on my squad when i easily could have only drafted one

its a free league amongst friends...and the last out of 4 leagues on my priority list...so no big deal

here's the squad. PPR. 1 QB, 2 RBs, 3WRs, 1 flex

QB: Rivers, Cutler, Eli
RB: Charles, Felix, Bradshaw
WR: AJ, Fitz, Steve Smith(car)
BN: LT, tim hightower, vincent jackson, burleson
TE: zac miller

I did a similar thing last night, except I wasn't hitting the bottle. I have been thinking all preseason that Phillip Rivers as QB7 off the board is great value, and of course it lands perfectly for me to take him in that spot with the 3rd pick in the third round of a 14 team league. I continue on with my draft and few, if any, QBs go off the board as the rounds progress.

Well round 8 gets arrives and Matt Ryan is still on the board after 110 players have been picked (his ADP is <40). I don't need a solid backup QB, but this is too good of value and a good way to stick it to many of the other teams not taking QBs.

I never would have guessed I would have 2 Qbs at the end of round 8 in a 14 team league.

Roster: Start 1QB, 2Rb, 3WR, Rb/Wr Flex and 0.5 PPR
Qbs: Rivers, Ryan
RB: R Rice, R Bush, J Harrison, T Hightower, R Jennings, K Huggins
WR: M Austin, H Nicks, M Wallace, M Williams (TB), L Murphy
TE: Carlson

Now that looks like a team a drunk man would be very proud of! ;-D :-b

Way to GO ;-D

I was shooting for the 3 headed monster QB but Alex Smith was snatched out from under my nose two picks before I could grab him. Now I'm stuck with only Kolb and Rothlerapeistbeerger as my QBs in a very heavy QB scoring system.

I'm seriously considering picking up T. Edwards or D. Anderson before the season starts.

Matt Ryan ADP of <40?? Based on FFCalc, his ADP is #89/7.03 in a 14 team league. Heck....Rivers doesn't even have an ADP of <40. Round 8 seems about right....but since it was late 8th, I guess that is decent value. Definitely not "too good of value" as you stated. Really depends on which RB/WR were available at the time.
