Need help salvaging WR spots

Postby Livid » Fri Sep 03, 2010 4:09 pm

Long story short the league was set up as a non-ppr league before the draft but has now been switched to PPR...

The league starts 2 WR and a flex. Also it is a return yardage and TD league.

This is the first year I have done fantasy football and could use some advice on trying to salvage the WR position for the season.

Here is my roster:

WR:
Josh Cribbs
Devin Thomas
Mardy Gilyard
Hakeem Nicks
Dez Bryant
Dexter McCluster

RB: (.25 PPC)
Maurice Jones-Drew
Cedric Benson
Arian Foster
Felix Jones

TE:
Jermichael Finley
Fred Davis

QB:
Joe Flacco
Kevin Kolb

On the waiver wire the top available are:

Mohamed Massoquoi
Devin Hester
Jacoby Jones
Vincent Jackson
Julian Edelman
Demaryius Thomas
Mike Williams
Golden Tate
Austin Colle
Mario Manningham
Legedu Naanee
Greg Camarillo
Danny Amendola.

I know that I need to replace Gilyard for sure and probably Devin Thomas first. I might be able to get away with Cribbs since it is a return yardage league.

I was thinking of adding Massoqoui and Mike Williams first and then probably dropping Mcluster for another WR.

Does anyone have any suggestions for me?

Is that the TB Williams? If so, grab him now. He could easily be a WR2 this year. I also like Jacoby Jones more than Devin Thomas. Or, Massequoi for Thomas. In a PPR, maybe Mass since he'll likely be the main guy there. Although Jones may get you return yards. I would hold on to Mcluster just in case he breaks out sometime.

help?

12 Team League. We start 2 QBs and get .5 PPR, otherwise standard scoring
QBs: Stafford, Fitzpatrick, Collins
RBs: Charles, Mendenhall, Best, Starks, Carter, Karim
WRs: D. Jackson, Marshall, S. Smith, Green,
TE: Hernandez, Cook

id be PISSED if my commish changed the scoring after the draft. i'd actually consider leaving the league. I'd also be pissed that regaurdless of what scoring system i had that i drafted such a pathetic wr corps. add Williams, Massaquoi and VJax on your team instantly. Drop Gilyard, Thomas and Cribbs for them. despite scoring systems those 3 are better values then the 3 u had unless you have some extreme return yards pts

EDIT: just saw that its a return yards league as well. whats the scoring like? Drop McCluster instead of Cribbs in this case

I hope this isn't a money league. If it is you should say that you won't pay any money until they change it back. Anyway, I would pick up Jacoby Jones, Mike Williams and Greg Camarillo.

I was pretty pissed about it but its a work league so it makes things a little tougher. For return yards its 1 point per 20 yards and 6 points for a TD.

I have put waivers in for Williams and Massaquoi already hopefully it goes through. How do you guys feel about Amendola as my last WR instead of Vincent Jackson?

the rumors all suggest that VJax will get traded today. Add him INSTANTLY b4 he does get traded... if not then hes suspended for 7 games then you could go back an get Amendola who wont get picked up by anyone... VJax is far to valuable to pass on right now and im shocked that his still available. If he gets traded then he instantly becomes a low end #2 high end #3 with potential to be a solid #2
