Paper Bag Challenge (PBC) Rules

What is it?
The paper bag challenge is a way to support your favorite team each week. By participating, you are wagering your avatar (picture beside your name) on the outcome of your team's game. If you win, all those that challenged you must wear a paper bag with their team’s logo on it for a week. If their team wins, you (and all those that sided with you in the challenge) must do the same.

How does it work?
If you wish to take a challenge, simply post in the thread for your team that you will man up and accept. If the game you're looking for doesn't have its own thread already, simply create one with Week X PBC in the title and the teams playing.

Very simple. Support your team, get penalized if you're wrong. Gee, it seems like there should be something for the PBC winner, too. I'll ask about that. Maybe Metroid could write you a Haiku.

Please do not post in the PBC threads if you do not wish to participate in that PBC. And pretty please, any and all game commentary should go in the Game Commentary thread for your matchup. Use your challenge thread to trash talk your opponent/goad people into accepting the challenge, but once the game starts please take the comments to the GC thread. It'll make me happier.

If no one from the other team accepts your challenge, and your team loses, you are not required to put on the bag. There's no penalty for offering the challenge and not having anyone take you up on it.

Blacklist
If you challenge and lose and your paper bag isn't on within 48 hours, you will be added to the blacklist and your PBC endeavors in the future will be seriously curtailed by a certain hungry webhamster. I'd like to ask for the folks that participate in the challenge to police this. If someone accepts a challenge and doesn't put on their paper bag, report it to any football mod and we'll update the list.

Where can I put on the bag?

1. Go to User Control Panel
2. Click on the Profile tab
3. Click on Edit Avatar in the sidebar
4. Click Display Gallery at the bottom of the page
5. Under Category choose Paperbags and click Go
6. Click on your team's paperbag radio button
7. Click Submit

On a final note, please remove your bag after a week. And don’t just wear the bag as a sign of shame for your team. “Bagging up” is strictly for the weekly loser.
