Who should I offer for Rodgers?

Postby phluux » Sat Sep 04, 2010 7:31 am

I had Rodgers last year and I'm high on him again this year. Sure, Brady isn't exactly a bad pick, so maybe I don't trade for him at all. So, would you try to make a deal, and if so, who would you offer?

I'm not sure I want two Saints WRs on my roster, and my depth at RB is pretty weak considering Jackson is injury prone and Spiller is in RBBC, so maybe I roll with Brady and try to improve other positions with another team. (10 team league)

My team:

QB: T. Brady, K. Orton
WR: M. Colston, R. Meachem, D. Mason, S. Breaston, A. Collie
RB: R. Rice, S. Jackson, CJ Spiller
TE: J. Witten, C. Cooley
K: R. Bironas, R. Succop (already made a WW move to drop Succop for Tomlinson)
DEF: Baltimore

His team:

QB: A. Rodgers, C. Henne
WR: Calvin Johnson, M. Wallace, M. Floyd, D. Driver, M. Massaquoi
RB: J. Harrison, J. Stewart, F. Jones
TE: V. Davis, H. Miller
K: R. Longwell
DEF: NYJ, San Diego

I'd stay put. Why give up another player with Brady when he has a shot to end up with better numbers? That will always be a heavy passing O, hes another year removed from surgery and NE's Def. has some holes.

Thanks, I was having second thoughts and agree. Brady is still a Tier 1 QB.

At QB; I don't really see you being at a huge disadvantage. If I were to assume that they would want Brady and someone else; your teams do not sync up well. I like your RBs more than theirs and I like their WRs more than yours. You would more than likely end up offering a WR that they wouldn't want; so the offer gets murky from the very offset. I spend a lot of time on trade offers because if I don't make it solid up front and consider indepthly what their team really needs; then I may have just compromised the ability to trade with that person later. The art of trading is synthesizing both teams extremely well and making sure both of you come out feeling good about it.

Brady will do as good or better as Rodgers this year. Promise.
