Greg Camarillo or Deion Branch

Postby slim150 » Sat Sep 04, 2010 9:10 am

I have Camarillo on my bench with Branch being a FA. Should I keep Camarillo or drop him to pick up Branch? The TJ news is making me consider this.

The TJ situation should be more clear by tomorrow morning (if not some time today); I would exercise patience. "If" he leaves; the choice to me becomes more personal preference. I am not a fan of the Seattle offense, the WR situation is murky even if he does leave, I think Carlson will become more involved, etc. In Minn; you know that Rice is out, Harvin is having migraine issues and you know you have a QB that is a gunslinger. I would assume that this would be in your WR5 range so you can gamble. I just see Camarillo as having more immediate upside.

Looks a lot like Branch will be starting with M Williams in SEA. Camarillo is probably useful to you in a PPR league since he's a slot/possession receiver, but not so much in a standard format. I'd make this move. Good luck!

I am in a strange format league, we do get PPR and we start 4 WRs. This is my 9th WR on my team :D (behind Jennings, Welker, Knox, Laurent Robinson, Chambers, Royal, Crayton, and Holmes) Both of your points are on the money so this is why i'm on the fence:

Cam: + good offense
+ starting
+ ppr
- matter of time before rice
- doesn't know playbook

Branch: + #2 WR
+ may be primary target
- offense is lame
- unknown about TJ

The thing is if i pick up Branch, I doubt noone will use their waiver to pick up cam.. so i could technically pick him up now and wait on the decision on TJ...and then snag Cam back when I know he becomes a FA if i needed to.

Ahh.

I've been a fan of Branch since NE, I would have to go with him.

Truthfully i dont think Branch will make it through the year. In situations like this, (when looking for a #9WR) i will always go with upside....you are better off adding a guy like Deon Butler, who is a speed demon, and may start for Branch before long. You have plenty of depth...it's always nice to find upside gems! Is Early Doucet available? What about Legedu Nanee, James Jones, Jordy Nelson, Eric Decker...? All guys i would add to the roster first in this scenario.

mine?
