Draft Strategy (12 team Redraft)

Postby Thor » Sat Sep 04, 2010 11:33 am

This is a strategy I have used to great success in past years and I want to know what others think about it. I think it is well worth giving up one of the top 3 or 4 RBs.

In the past I have with the number 1 overall pick or even the top 3 or 4, took the pick and offered it up for trade.

I ask to flip flop first round picks but keep the same slot the rest of the draft and they give up their second rounder to me.
I have done this 3 times over the past 6 years or so as someone always wants to get in one of those top slots. Usually some one down in the 8-12 slot.

This gives me 3 of the top 24 picks and if I had the first overall pick I end up with 4 of the first 25 picks.

As far as with this year, I like having one of the top 4 picks. The backs at the end of the draft have too many question marks compared to the top guys. As far as 4 of the first 25 picks, that's worth something, agreed. However I'd be more inclined to do this sort of swap in a deeper league, where there is a greater talent drop off later in the draft.

I think what your saying is you give them your 1st for their 1st and second. So you wind up with one 1st and 2 seconds.
Sounds like a good deal for you to me.
First the Shock, then the Pistons can the Lions be next?

Well maybe next yr.

PS I didn't lose a paper bag challenge but somehow as a Lion's fan it just feels right.

Sounds like a very good deal for you. I don't understand how any one would consider doing the trade, but definitely offer it for people to consider.
