Multiplayer deal....WHIR

Postby Hoosierdad » Sun Sep 05, 2010 2:49 pm

OK, I declined a trade from an owner that was Young/Davis for Cutler/Celek. After upping the anty like little kids, he offered me the following. Of course, most of this is dumb since they haven't played, but let's faxe it, it's fun to trade.

I would give
Young
Mathews
R. White
V. Davis

I would get
Schaub
S. Jackson
Harvin
Celek

His best WR is Harvin. My guess is, he's worried about him. He probably thinks that Mathews could be up near S. Jax in points. He's probably worried about Kolb at QB. For me, I think I upgrade at QB (we play 2), I slightly upgrade at RB, downgrade a lot at WR, and downgrade a little at TE.

Am I stupid for even considering this? Or am I stupid for not doing it?

You have Rodgers, I dont think you need to do it really.

Yes, but we start 2 QBs. So right now, it's Rodgers/Young. With this trade, it would be Rodgers/Schaub. Pretty enticing. Other than that whole WR thing.

is it a standard scoring league? If there are bonuses for QB play (x pts for 300yds or bonus for long TDs) then i think you should pull the trigger on this. The way i see it...

Your upgrade heavily at QB
Your downgrading heavily at WR
Your SLIGHTLY upgraded at RB
Your SLIGHTLY downgraded at TE

as far as value goes i'd say its a push. but like i said if you have any bonuses in your league having Rodgers and Schaub might just send you to the playoffs and beyond

EDIT: just saw the scoring in your sig :P this is a tough call... i guess it depends on how "well rounded" you want your team to be. at the end of the day i think this trade boils down to Schaub for Roddy. If you think Roddy will outplay Schaub this year then decline. but if you think Schaub will outplay Roddy then i think i'd say yes

I kinda like this trade for you, especially since you play 2 qb's. I think S Jax will be right up there with Mathews, if not better. TE is a toss up for me, Celek gets lots of red zone targets and the niners look like their set for a heavy run team this year. WR is a bit of a downgrade, but with Rice out for half the season, I think harvin might emerge as the #1 WR in MIN and White is a #1 WR on a run first team.

Schaub and Rodgers would be rediculous though and I think those two alone would more then make up for the difference in WR.

i was just lookin at some mocks with 2starting QBs and it looks like Schaub is a first round value in standard scoring... ive never been in a 2qb league so i dont know the ins and outs but as far as the "experts" mock draft goes Schaub went 14 picks ahead of Roddy... just thought you'd like to know ;-D

I see it like this. In a 2 QB league, big upgrade at QB is worth the downgraded WR. the TE swap is almost meaningless, and I like Sjax more than mathews. I'd do it

I would do it! Schaub > Young. Jackson=Matthews. White>Harvin and Davis > Celek slightly but not as great as the Schaub-Young chasm. Go for it!
