What to do with Vincent Jackson? WHIR

Postby Reg » Sun Sep 05, 2010 3:58 pm

10 team PPR 2 QB league

My starting WRs are weak. Welker, Mike Wallace, Johnny Knox. Laurent Robinson and Vjax on my bench

QBs are Rodgers and Cutler. Big ben on the bench

I see 3 options

1) Keep Vjax and hope he signs on somewhere and can easily start for me once he plays

2) Drop Vjax and grab a WR with potential, before the season starts. Here are some guys that are left:

Devin Hester
Mohamed Massaquoi
Julian Edelman
Jerricho Cotchery
Mike Thomas
Mario Manningham
Louis Murphy

3) Drop Vjax and grab another QB for the time being. There are 3 teams currently without a backup QB, and once bye weeks and injuries kick in, I might have some trade bait. Can also drop this guy later on if there is a hot WR waiver guy. Here who is left:

Jason Campbell
Josh Freeman
Derek Anderson
Sam Bradford
Jake Delhomme
Those are the starters available, guys like trent edwards and hasslebeck, few other questionable guys, are on rosters, so that may help me too

What would you do?

Well, your WRs may seem weak, but Wallace and Knox could have very good year. So while you may not have that top 10 stud, I could see all three of your guys ending up scoring OK. I don't see a WR on the wire that I would bother picking up. Since you have a 2 QB league, I think grabbing a 3rd QB may be the way to go. Of those on the wire, Anderson looks intriguing. IF he plays remotely well with the weapons he has, he could be good. And if Cutler plays well, you'll have some good trade bait. Or you could keep Jax. Unless he signs with SD, he's got to sit 6 weeks, correct? Long time for that payoff.

Thanks for the help on mine.

vjax has to sit 6 games regardless of who he signs with. I would drop him and pick up another QB since you play 2. A few wr's that arent on your list that may be worth taking a look at are both Mike Williams, TB and SEA, although I dont think they'd play ahead of welker, wallace or knox so a qb may be the best option for you.

I'd drop him and pick up a QB. I actually like Campbell just as much as Anderson.

I'd probably drop Laurent Robinson before I dropped VJax. Grab Anderson for now.

I can't drop my only active bench WR. Not to mention that 2 of my starting WRs have a bye week 5. And I have no one else to drop right now.

I dropped V.Jackson this morning for Mike Williams (SEA). My two choices I was considering were M.Williams and Gaffney (DEN). The ones you mentioned above are nothing special to get me excited. At this point of the game I would hold on to VJAX and see which free agent wideout emerges after a couple of weeks of play.

You have decent QB's even in a two QB league, I still think VJAX has some value and hopes on holding on.
