How did I do in my draft? (where to improve)

Postby jackarmani » Sun Sep 05, 2010 3:58 pm

Just had a draft for one of my leagues, how do you lot think I did?

Non-ppr (6 points for all TDs), start 1 qb, 2rb, 2wr, 1te, 1k, 1dst (12 team league)

QB: Brett Favre, Mathew Stafford
RB: Adrian Peterson, Knowshon Moreno, Beanie Wells, Jahvid Best
WR: Randy Moss, Roddy White, Steve Smith (CAR), Jeremy Maclin, Jacoby Jones
TE: Kellen Winslow
K: Jay Feeley
DST: Chargers

I got stuck on autodraft for 2 of my picks at 12/13 round picks and hence i ended up with chargers DST and Feeley.

My RB setup is rediculous as is my top wr core. Not happy at TE, but between rounds 5/6 8TE's came off the board (not including dallas clark and antonio gates) so I just waited and grabbed winslow in the 10th.

I think you are fine. As for TE, unless you get one of the top 3 or so, it's all a crap shoot. Your Rbs are good, especially if Moreno can stay healthy. Your WRs are beastly. I don't see how in a 12 team draft you got Moss and White, but bravo.

12 Team League. We start 2 QBs and get .5 PPR, otherwise standard scoring
QBs: Stafford, Fitzpatrick, Collins
RBs: Charles, Mendenhall, Best, Starks, Carter, Karim
WRs: D. Jackson, Marshall, S. Smith, Green,
TE: Hernandez, Cook

You did god with your RB. Better hope stafford has a good year.cause favre will never repeat his numbrs from last season and he is already complaining about his ankle

yeah i realise that favre probably wont repeat his majestic numbers from last year (i rode him to a championship (well him and chris johnson)) but given how fast qbs came off the board I did all i could to wait. I was really hoping to get mcnabb and matt ryan combo going, but that wasn't happening.

As for how i got some of the players i did, it was a joke. Some guys in my league have no idea what they are doing. I'll list the obv bad picks in the draft (and the order i picked guys up),

Donovan mcnabb (number 6 overall) - taken above peyton manning
Tony Romo (13th overall)
Tom Brady (21st overall - THE 8th QB TAKEN, how can so many go above him)
packers DST (46th overall) - 1st defence taken
vikings DST (69th overall) - 7th DST TAKEN, same as brady, how can so many defences go above them and so high

My draft was:

2nd - Adrian Peterson
23rd - Randy Moss
26th - Roddy White
47th - Steve Smith (CAR)
50th - Knowshon Moreno
71st - Brett Favre (took him as 3 teams had already taken their number 2 qbs and i didn't want to get left with nothing)
74th - Jahvid best
95th - Beanie Wells
98th - Kellen Winslow
119th - Maclin (got left on auto draft)
Chargers (got left on auto draft)
Stafford
Jacoby Jones
Feeley

Given my depth at rb/wr i'm tempted to see if i could package for a top 3 TE and get some depth back as well.
