Did I Give Up Too Much For Ray Rice

Postby Mossome84 » Mon Sep 06, 2010 2:49 am

First of all I am not a traditional runningback first strategist. I have been burned by them in the past and don't really trush them all that much. My strategy has been to wait for runningbacks until the 4th round at the earliest. I used to be a runningback guy but I play in a league that allows 2 quarterbacks to start. My system is 1/10 for rec and rush yrds. 1/25 for passing yards. 5 for pass td's, 6 for all others. Qb's get 5 bonus points for 350 yard game, rb's and wr's get 5 bonus points for 150 rush and 140 rec yards. I also get 1 bonus pt for 30+ yrd td's, 2 for 50+ and 3 for 80+. Start 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR/TE, 1 flex, 1 superflex (which allows QB)

My relevant roster.

QB's

Romo
Flacco
D Anderson
Sanchez

RB's

Forte
Spiller
Forsett
Maroney

WR's

DeSaun Jackson
Fitz
Garcon
Sims-Walker
Dez Bryant
Royal

He recieves

Joe Flacco, DeSean Jackson

I receive

Ray Rice, Chris Wells, Chad Henne

I hope I made out ok on this one. It hurts getting rid of two good players so hopefully Rice won't have a down year.

well i think ray rice is a beast but i do believe you gave up alittle to much for him. i dont believe beanie is anything special and actually think hightower wil be better.. henne hopefully will have a good year. if you want, wait a couple of games with spiller for his trade value to go up till fred jackson is close to comming back and pawn off spiller for someone nasty on wr or rb whatever you need at that time. overall if you can pull that off then i think u made a great trade.. right now its up in the air

please help with mine

On the contrary. I think you robbed him blind. You traded for an every week starter in Rice and lost DeSean really. You can start Fitz, S-W, and either Garcon or Dez (based upon matchups) and be just fine. You jumped up tremendously in RB and took a small step back in WR. That's always a good thing. That is...as long as Romo stays healthy and you are not stuck with DA or "Filthy Sanchez!" Good luck!

That was a complete robbery by you. I would have given up Flacco and D JAX for Rice. You also got Wells and Henne. That was a great deal.

Like twiztednailz said, you robbed him blind! I too would have given up Flacco and Jackson just for Rice. Then to top it off, you receive Wells and Henne as well! LMAO! Wish I had dummies like that in my league!

Don't forget that this is a 2 QB league with a scoring system favorable to quarterbacks. I personally thought it was an even trade because Flacco holds alot more value in my league than in most leagues. So getting rid of Flacco isn't just giving up a non starter. He does hold value.

Given that it's 2 QBs, I don't think you robbed him. I don't think you overpaid because I think Rice is that good and Jackson may be overvalued this year some. Depending on his roster, I think both of you could have done well for their teams.
