Long time football fan here but first time fantasy player.
I have Beanie as my #2 RB but am feeling a little shaky about him, esp. with him and Hightower sharing touches. I would like to package Beanie with somebody else on my team and grab another solid #2 back. Anybody have any suggestions?
My Team: QB: Brees (Bench: A. Smith) WR: G. Jennings, H. Nicks, J. Knox (Bench: Massaquoi, L. Robinson, A. Gonzalez, R. Williams) RB: Shonn Greene, Beanie Wells, Cadillac (FLEX) (Bench: Maroney, LT) TE: Tony Gonzalez K: Bironas DEF: Miami
I think my team needs a little bit of help. I feel I'm semi-weak in my WRs and my RBs aren't the greatest either.
How should I upgrade? Do you think I can get someone of Cedric Benson's caliber for Beanie and Nicks? IS that trade even worth it? Any other trade ideas for my team?
No, I wouldn't trade Wells and Nicks for Benson. I think Wells is a fine RB2 (I figure they will try and run more this year), you have good WRs, so wouldn't make a trade that would weaken your WRs.
12 Team League. We start 2 QBs and get .5 PPR, otherwise standard scoring QBs: Stafford, Fitzpatrick, Collins RBs: Charles, Mendenhall, Best, Starks, Carter, Karim WRs: D. Jackson, Marshall, S. Smith, Green, TE: Hernandez, Cook
on other note...i would certainly trade wells, and caddy in 1 package for someone else. Your absolutly right...wells will most liekly split touches, and caddys role is also declining as we speak. I would most def pick up Huggins if i were you.
Here is some usefull information that might help you make a trade, or at least give you a better direction. Check out my PPT article in football talk
If you can package Wells and Williams for something, that's fine. But if you trade Nicks, you would cripple your WRs. The difference between Nicks and your next wide receiver is huge. And the difference between Benson and Wells is very small to me. I know you used Benson as an example, but I just don't see anyone trading you a huge upgrade to Wells for Wells/Williams. Not unless someone is really hurting. I do agree that you should grab Huggins if he is on waiver. Drop Gonzalez. He is so far down the Indy option list that he has no value to me. If Williams gets hurt, Huggins will have good value.

Unfortunately, Huggins is not on the wire. Thanks for the advice though. I think I'll try shopping out wells/caddy... test the waters a little. Also, I agree... trading away nicks greatly affects my WR core.
Regarding Gonzalez... a more experience fantasy player/friend of mine mentioned that he was a deep sleeper for this season and could be vying for the #2 WR spot. I might have to drop him soon anyways as my TE's bye week is early and I don't have a backup TE.
