Complicated 6 man trade--WHIR--need help!!!

Postby pokashark24 » Mon Sep 06, 2010 3:58 pm

Ok so I'm in a keeper league where you can keep 4 guys each year but you have to give up a draft pick 2 rounds earlier than where u drafted the player in the year before. It is a unique league b/c all TD's are worth 6 points and it is a 0.5 points per reception league. Also we can start :
2 QBs, 2RBs, 2 WRs, 1 TE and a flex WR/RB.

I really don't like any QB's I have other than Brady and am kinda desperate for that 2nd QB since we can start 2. Do I give up:
Fitzgerald, Garrard and Aromashodu
to get:
McNabb, Hakeem Nicks (can keep him next year as round 6 pick) and Sam Bradford (can keep him as round 12 next year)

If I do this trade I know I am getting a downgrade at WR but is it worth it for the upgrade I am getting at QB? Plus I can't really keep Fitz next year and I would be able to keep Bradford and Nicks for the next 2 years. I don't want to make a stupid trade just because I am desperate for a QB. Please help me out here.

My roster is:
QB- Brady, Garrard, Delhomme, Freeman
WR- Fitz, Knox, Vincent Jackson, D. Aromashadu, Malcom Floyd, James Jones
RB- Ryan Mathews, J. Stewart, Beanie Wells, Marion Barber, Donald Brown, Leon Washington, Peyton Hillis
TE- Jason Witten

Other dude's roster:
QB- Brees, Vince Young, McNabb, Sam Bradford
WR- Brandon Marshall, OchoCinco, H. Nicks, J. Maclin, D. Mason, N. Burleson
RB- Frank Gore, Ronnie Brown, Jamal Charles, Bernard Scott.

I don't think that your team can survive the hit that you would take at WR. Fitz is your anchor at that position, and the only really solid option that you have now that VJax is down for 6+. You would be starting Knox and Floyd at your WR position? Ugh. :-t

Don't do the move. See if you can find somewhere else to upgrade without giving up your best player.

Good luck! ;-D

The keeper aspect of this complicates things for me, but I don't think the difference between McNabb and Garrard makes up the difference between Fitz and Nicks. It might once games start, but Nicks needs to show he can be that consistent scorer. I think he could, but giving up one of the best WRs in the game is tough. I think you would need a better QB than McNabb for that to work.

Interestingly, I have a similar type trade I'm considering.

12 Team League. We start 2 QBs and get .5 PPR, otherwise standard scoring
QBs: Stafford, Fitzpatrick, Collins
RBs: Charles, Mendenhall, Best, Starks, Carter, Karim
WRs: D. Jackson, Marshall, S. Smith, Green,
TE: Hernandez, Cook

i agree with the above posters on this board. just to much of a loss at wr and not enough upgrade at qb. your giving up one of the best wr in the game for a so so qb in mcnabb, i call him so so this year bc hes playing on the redskins, is injury prone and doesnt have much to throw to there.. stick with what you have and if you cant keep fitz this year then trade him during the season for something else when his trade value is higher.

Don't do the trade man. McNabb isn't worth your #1 reciever, no matter who that reciever is. Especially with the depth you have at that position. Look elsewhere if you can.
