Does anyone buy that Welker is not feeling great after surgery or is he pulling a Tom Brady. Last year Brady acted like his surgery was threatening for the season, goes out and had a good season in 09. Is Welker telling the truth or just following the Patriot way?

Imagine that he is telling the truth. He had major knee surgery only 8 months ago. Tough injury to bounce back from. So, don't think that he is 100%. Still think he will have a productive year though, WR2 level as long as he doesn't have any set-back. I guess we'll see how he looks this weekend. Hoping that he's up to speed as I drafted him too.
Welker fell to the 9th round in my draft. Took him as my WR4 so not much risk for me. Don't know if you're gonna have many takers on Welker right now. Maybe see what he does in wk 1. A good game will definitely drive up his trade value. Good luck.

The ninth round, makes me think ppl don't know how to draft. Welker will be as he usually is, catching short passes in the flat or over the middle and getting 7 to 10 yards per reception. I suspect his stats will not differ that much from years past, some but not a lot. Remember as a FF WR in years past he was pretty effective. I think Wes will be solid #2. I am using him with Roddy White this and think it will yield some good results.
I agree! In a PPR format Welker will still be a great WR2 over the season. May be a little slow out of the gate but good overall. If he can get through a couple of weeks without a major setback you will be happy you grabbed him. And Welker in the 9th round is a gift from the rest of your league!
