Pick 2: Floyd, Wallace, Cribbs (return yards)

Postby default01 » Mon Sep 06, 2010 9:07 pm

Right now, I've got Floyd & Wallace in as starters but I think Cribbs might be a better choice because of the return yardage. How would you rank those 3 players? Settings and my team are below.

12 team league
Pass/Return Yards = 25 yds/pt
Rush/Rec Yards = 10 yds/pt
Pass TDs = 4 pts
Rush/Rec/Return TDs = 6 pts

QB: P. Manning
RB: S. Jackson
RB: J. Charles
WR: M. Floyd
WR: M. Wallace
W/R: A. Foster
W/R: M. Forte
TE: J. Finley
D/ST: Cincinnati
K:

BN: L. Tomlinson
BN: D. Sproles
BN: D. Aromashodu
BN: J. Jones (HOU)
BN: J. Cribbs
BN: J. Gaffney
BN: M. Williams (TB)

I still need to pick up a kicker and am leaning toward dropping Gaffney.

I also will probably switch out my D/ST:
Cincinnati @NE
Tennessee vs Oak
Tampa Bay vs Cle
Arizona @ StL

I like Cribbs. I have him in a return yards league as well.

I heard rumor that he will get less return touches, but we'll see. Start him over Wallace.

Also, Percy Harvin is a beast in these types of leagues. Not sure how savy your league is, but acquiring him would be huge.

McCluster is another guy to keep an eye on, as well as Devin Thomas. They both seem to be involved in the offense and the return game.

Thanks for the help on mine. I would say to start Cribbs over Wallace, especially in ppr format. Cle knows that Cribbs has to touch the ball to be successful and imo Wallace is solely a home run hitter.

I would say Cribbs as well. The potential for over 100 return yards is greater than the potential for Wallace to be over 100 yds receiveing.

With those return yards incentives Cribbs is a great play. As a Browns fan, I can tell you he can take it to the house everytime he touches it. It's sick. I'd play Floyd and Cribbs. Plus, he's becoming a bigger role in the offense.

Thanks for the help. I'm going with Floyd and Cribbs.

As for Aromashodu, you may be right but I think he's a riskier play. I'm more comfortable with him on my bench week 1 as a potential break-out candidate.

As for not dropping Gaffney, who would you rather drop? Gaffney, Williams (TB), Jones (Hou)?

I waited late to take my first WR and stocked up on potential, but I have to choose one to drop now and I really think Gaffney is the odd man out. I've been going through teams in my league trying to think of possible 2-for-1's but haven't been able to come up with something I'd be happy with so I really think I just have to let one of them go.
