I know most of the Troyer clan, but I had never met him, so I wasn't a complete, complete stranger. And I was the only one at the entire table who wasn't part of the Troyer family, so perhaps he felt more comfortable opening up. All the Troyers I know are good people, so I would expect the same from Rich. It could just be a case of people or personalities not mixing well with one another. Or perhaps Rich or Scott or both act completely different on the sideline from what we'd expect.
Doesn't it seem completely out of place to you that he would mention Frost's career in college 13 years after he graduated as a reason he has issues with the guy, especially since it seems highly unlikely that Frosty would mention Nebraska on an Oregon sideline? It seems out of place to me. One of those things that make you say, "huh."
Also, remember that Frost was at Stanford for a year before transferring to Nebraska - is it possible that Mr. Troyer had some interaction with him then? Mr. Troyer could be a great guy and still say this out-of-place thing, and let it cloud his judgment of Frost. Lord knows that Frost had an ego a mile high in college.
