All reports show that Kevin Smith is fully healthy. There have been rumors of him taking back the job once his health is confirmed. I just checked the Lions website and Kevin Smith is numero uno on the depth chart. However, everything I read on Jahvid Best is all about him having a firm lock on the starting gig.

Anyone got any info on this?

I don't know the specifics of the situation, but Smith was miserable last year. The Lions drafted Best to run him, and all indications this pre season have been that they will.

Best will be the starter from day one, there was a ton of speculation that Smith was going to get cut this year.

where are these rumors? seems weird that smith would be on top of the depth chart on their website, i wouldn't trust that to be honest

Kevin Smith was lucky not to be cut. Best is the starter, Smith erred in the off season, I think, in sliming down. He should have bulked up and tried filling the short yardage back role, because Best has the explosive, fast, elusive RB position covered. <---I just said that about a Lions RB. Man am I jonsing for the season to start.
