Trade for Thomas/Ochocinco? WHIR

Postby ShaqAttaq13 » Wed Sep 08, 2010 12:15 am

Just post a link to yours if you need help!

12 Team, deep league. I think this improves my starting lineup for sure, but not sure if I want to give up all my depth this early in the year. I also much prefer Colston to Ochocinco. But this does drastically improve my RB's tho. What ya think?

I give:

Marques Colston
Malcom Floyd
Fred Jackson

I get:

Chad Ochocinco
Pierre Thomas

My team (starters bolded)

QB: Brett Favre, David Gerrard, Matt Cassel
WR: Randy Moss, Brandon Marshall, Marques Colston, Hines Ward, Malcolm Floyd, Jacoby Jones
RB: Ricky Williams, Jerome Harrison, Felix Jones, Marion Barber, Fred Jackson, Kareem Higgins
TE: Dallas Clark
K: David Buehler
D: San Francisco

It's obvious that you chose to draft WR/TE early and often... and you can certainly win that way. You believed in the strategy on draft day, why not see it put into action?

At RB I think you will be okay -- you can cobble together a couple of starters. Harrison's path to outperforming his ADP was opened up significantly by the Hardesty injury, but I would keep Hillis on the speed dial after Week 1. You've cornered the DAL backfield. Ricky and FJax (when he gets back from injury) are spot starters.

I would also work that WW -- even in deep leagues there are guys that come out of nowhere each year.

If after 3 or 4 weeks it's not working, make a trade then.

So long story short I think you give up too much in the trade -- so stay put.

In a bubble...I'd do it...but I just don't think the Bengals are going to be good enough to make Ochocinco worth what you are giving up.

I wouldn't make the trade, or I'd try and up the value a bit, and go for a better back than PT. You have the receivers to do it...

Help if you can...

I like always getting the best player back in the trade, and that's Colston so I say no.

Hmm. You all are clearly not as high on Thomas as the Yahoo "experts" who all have him pegged as a top 15 RB and the best player in this trade. That wasn't the only reason I considered it but thats had a little influence on me.. I feel like the saints are gonna use him a little bit more.

The kid also has Addai and Turner... He already said he would give up Addai at about the same price (like in this deal) but Turner would take a lot more. Not a fan of Addai with all the Donald Brown news. I guess at this point I could also..

Offer the same deal with Addai instead of Thomas

or...

Offer the same deal with me giving up Marshall and maybe getting Turner. No confirmation if he would do that or not but he has been inquiring/trying to get Marshall out of this the whole time. Either sound better?

I'd have to agree here. You chose a route to draft in, and I stay stick to your guns for now. Also, I'm not a huge fan of Thomas and think you should be able to net a bigger fish a little later.

Thanks for the help with mine

I would definitely do this trade. I am high on Thomas this year. Ocho is obviously not ranked as high as Colston, but I believe he will have one of his best fantasy years. Your team looks solid as it is, and this trade makes you better.

Help?

Too yall saying no.. just curious. Are yall expecting a pretty productive year from Fred Jackson? I may be over reading into the preseason but Spiller is looking good and they have 3 backs.. I was kind of hoping to get out of that also considering they are the bills.

Granted Thomas is in a timeshare but its a much better/trustworthy offense. Just curious as to what the logic in not doing it is.

Hell no?

Well I'm looking at your RB core and your WR core and quite frankly you need a great RB. 85 and Colston are close in value and Floyd can easily be replaced.

I'd do this deal in a new york second especially you have great depth at WR and none at RB and this improves your starting lineup.

Randy Moss, Brandon Marshall, Marques Colston, Hines Ward
or
Moss/Marshall/Ward/85
I bet you'd feel real bad starting those 4 each week, I mean come on.
