i would say no, because matthews is unproven. brees>schaub, but only by a little, and TO is almost a non-factor for me, although, you take a hit if you trade him away. i would see if you could get a decent WR out of the deal if at all possible.
QB: Matt Stafford WR: Roddy White WR: Pervcy Harvin WR: Jeremy Maclin RB: Chris Johnson RB: Reggie Bush TE: Anthony Gonzales K: Gostkowski DEF: Baltimore
BENCH: Peyton Hillis, Anquan Boldin, Ryan Williams, Mario Manningham, James Jones, and Robert Turbin
My general rule of thumb is you always want to come out of a trade with the best player in the trade. In this case, based on pre-season rankings (drafts, auction values), you're getting the best 2 players in this trade in Brees and Mathews.
The problem is that you're already really weak at Receiver and this isn't going to help the matter (you don't have a decent WR2 in my opinion). However, it depends what's on the Waiver. Is Mike Williams (either one) sitting there? They could be primed to blow up. Nate Burleson is sneaking under everyone's radar but could have a very good year as the #2 on Detroit (could be a great WR3 in PPR).
Considering you didn't suggest the trade, and are getting back the BEST 2 players in the trade and will have a roster spot to take a risk on, I would say go ahead and do it and scour the waiver wire for a breakout to plug into the hole. Think about this...if that extra roster spot turns into another valuable asset (say Cadillac Williams goes down and you have Kareem Huggins) then does that make this trade worth it? You can only start so many players so the more value you can get out of each position, the better. In any case, with Foster you have 3 starter-quality backs anyways.
I'd probably do it, but I take risk and hope that I find a guy on the waiver who gets the opportunity to blow up.

Thanks for the help on mine!
I agree with BalancedMan, you are coming out of this trade with the 2 best players, but leaves you weak at WR. You're either going to have to either make a move somewhere down the line to upgrade that WR core that you have or you're going to have to be all over the waiver wire and keep an eye out on those WR's that might just blowuptuate! Hope this helps!!
Well there's not much to choose from in terms of FA receivers:
Aromashodu, Devin WR CHI Hester, Devin WR CHI Washington, Nate WR Manningham, Mario WR Walter, Kevin WR HOU Murphy, Louis WR OAK Henderson, Devery WR NO Robinson, Laurent WR STL Thomas, Mike WR JAC Branch, Deion WR SEA
I would lean towards Mike Thomas out of the slim pickings.

No Burleson, or James Jones?
I would probably grab Robinson or Aromashodu. Knox seems to be the guy in Chicago, but Aromashodu apparently will be on the field a lot and Cutler will throw the ball. L. Robinson is on a team where he's the #1 receiver. He would be a guy to grab in a heartbeat (could easily be a 70/800/6 guy or better if he stays healthy). No Donnie Avery, although Mark Clayton being traded could either hurt his value or increase it (depending on the coverage he gets). I'd probably go with Robinson. I'd like the trade more if there was a bigger-upside guy available though :-(
