Drop Maroney for Mike Williams (SEA) or Dexter McCluster?

Postby BalancedMan » Wed Sep 08, 2010 2:17 am

Would you drop him? He's inconsistent but young on a RBBC of old guys and in a contract year. These two guys lack experience but are in positions to succeed with Williams being the #1 (I also have TB Mike Williams) and McCluster having dual eligibility. Kareem Huggins is also available. What would you guys do? 12 team regular league but we get 0.5 PPR also. I already dropped Maroney but he's now off waivers and is available again. Did I make a mistake?

Rest of team:

QB: Kevin Kolb
WR1: Andre Johnson
WR2: Steve Smith (Carolina)
WR3: Eddie Royal
RB1: Rashard Mendenhall
RB2: Arian Foster
TE: Brent Celek
K: Garret Hartly
DEF: San Francisco
BN: Eli Manning
BN: Ronnie Brown
BN: John Carlson
BN: Dexter McCluster
BN: Mike Williams (TB)
BN: Mike Williams (SEA)

I don't think you made a mistake at all. Maroney had 9 TDs...but several were of the junk variety. He can't stay healthy, and he's in a system that right now, I don't think wants a stud running back...

I like the ups for both Williams and McCluster, and keep watching for a sneaky future #1...like Huggins in Tampa...but Maroney isn't going to do much...

Help if you can...

No, I don't think you made a mistake. As long as you have a healthy Ronnie Brown, you need a 2nd backup at RB. Maroney's not in a good situation. I would wait a week or two to see if Williams or McCluster pan out before you go back to Maroney.
