Week 1 DEFENSE (WHIR)

Postby hutchdawg85 » Wed Sep 08, 2010 9:31 am

I've traded away my #1 defense (DAL) for Felix Jones and now I need to play the matchups for defense in week 1.

Who should I play? Return Touchdowns count. Basic nfl.com defensive scoring.

I'm leaning towards the following:

Ten vs. Oak
Atl @ Pit
Cle @ TB
Mia @ Buf
SD @ KC

Leave a link and I WILL help you in return. Thanks!

I think TEN vs. OAK is as solid a play as you have here. I'd go with CLE @ TB if you want to roll the dice on J. Cribbs breaking off a return for a TD, but that's really not a move I'd feel confident with.

Love that you managed to trade a Defense for a solid RB , excellent!

I would go with Tennessee as well , i am starting ATL @PIT in my league in a similar situation but i didnt have the TEN option. TEN! Campbell will make that offense better but not that much

Thanks for the help with mine. I like them in this order:

MIA @ Buffalo - Buffalo is just going to be a bad offense all year long.
CLE @ TB - Freeman is a turnover machine, and Cribbs is, well, Cribbs.
TEN v OAK - Oakland is better with Campbell, but not that much.

Good luck!

I agree with the above guy, Miami. But the Cardinals have St. Louis and are available on like 90% of espn leagues. I love that matchup. Rookie QB against a decent run defense to hold Stephen Jackson forcing the newb to throw...Maybe he'll prove me wrong, but I see a solid game from the Cardinals Defense.

The Cardinals aren't available in my league or I'd probably do that too.

Thanks for the reponses. I guess I'm leaning towards Tennessee, but that Cleveland-Tampa matchup is pretty enticing consideringing Freeman threw 18 picks in 9 starts last year (plus throw in the Cribbs wildcard and a decent Browns pass rush).

Anybody else have some advice? And as always I WHIR!
