Teams 3 & 4 of 2010. WHIR

Postby Sex Panther » Thu Sep 09, 2010 8:51 am

Had my last 2 drafts last night (got suckered into the 2nd last minute - usually roll w/ only 3 teams).

Anyway, Team 3, drafted 6th of 10 - QB/WR/WR/RB/RB/Flex (WR/RB)/TE/K/D. Standard scoring, locked rosters w/ FA cash bids, have to draft backups at EVERY position (hence 2 kickers).

QB P. Manning, J. Cutler
WR A. Johnson, R. White, H. Ward
RB P. Thomas, J. Addai, A. Bradshaw, C. Portis
TE B. Celek, O. Daniels
K N. Rackers, D. Buehler
D New Orleans, New England

Projected typical ypical starters in BOLD, TE/K/D will play match ups

I feel very confident about this squad...

Team 4, drafted 5th out of 12 - QB/WR/WR/WR/RB/RB/TE/K/D. Standard scoring, only know 3 of the guys in this league (my brother & 2 of his brothers in law), idk what 1/2 of these guys were thinking...

QB K. Kolb, D. Garrard
WR R. Wayne, R. White, M. Floyd, B. Edwards, J. Jones (Houston)
RB A. Peterson, A. Foster, F. Jones, C. Portis
TE A. Gates
K N. Rackers
D Dallas, San Diego

Projected typical starters in BOLD, match up play w/ D/ST

I also feel very confident in this squad (even w/ ?'s at QB) - AP @ 5 + Wayne & White in the 2nd/3rd is insane to me in a 12 team league where you need to start 3 WR...

WHIR as always.

QB P. Manning, J. Cutler - Solid QB1, as solid as any player gets in fantasy football! I like Payton to put up slightly better stats this year than he did last year. Cutler is a solid backup, and trade bait if he does good (which he wont... I'm just a pesimest when it comes to cutler, but he is a solid bye week filer).
WR A. Johnson, R. White, H. Ward - Holy crap! is all i can say. Ward is also a great bye week filler
RB P. Thomas, J. Addai, A. Bradshaw, C. Portis - I love Thomas upside as outpreforming his draft value, hes ur RB1 every week starter. I also love Bradshaws upside as an every week flex player, although in standard scoring Jacobs might vulture away too many TD's (unless he pisses off the coaches with his grumpy attittude! i hope he does), Addai will be a good RB2 but with no upside. Brown may get more snaps as the year goes on so the colts can be comfortable not resigning addai at year end. and portis is a very shaky low end RB3 in my opinion. I would look to upgrade ur RB4 if the opportunity ever presents itself via Wavier Wire, and dump that sack of crap portis a couple weeks in the year when u physically see him fall apart during the season.
TE B. Celek, O. Daniels - Solid TE's. Love Celek as he is the best redzone threat for philly and also may be leaned on by kolb as he adapts to starting QB. Daniels is a nice backup with upside if u give him time to fully heal, u may be able to play him in good matchups at the end of the year.
K N. Rackers, D. Buehler - K's dont matter much but i love them both! play the matchup (too bad u cant drop one for another RB!)
D New Orleans, New England - N.O. is a good turnover/sack DEF but there not a dominant team, a NE is also a good D (rising as opposed to regressing like NO) but there still not great. Play the matchups with these D's (NO the 1st week) and play the WW and add and drop these D's based on the matchups... keep NO over NE's though.

Projected typical ypical starters in BOLD, TE/K/D will play match ups

I feel very confident about this squad...

GREAT DRAFT, GREAT SQUAD! Look for a better RB4, and play the matchups with the D (using WW D's too) and your pretty much guarenteed the championship with that team! Good Job!

Team 4, drafted 5th out of 12 - QB/WR/WR/WR/RB/RB/TE/K/D. Standard scoring, only know 3 of the guys in this league (my brother & 2 of his brothers in law), idk what 1/2 of these guys were thinking...

QB K. Kolb, D. Garrard - Kolb is a good QB, although he has a huge upside and a huge downside. I like you drafting him and focusing on the rest of your squad, but I would of liked to see a better backup QB in case Kolb struggles. Advice here - Play the WW and grab a better backup QB stat! Maybe - Big Ben (i'm sure he was drafted though), Stafford, Monitor the ARI QB situation (maybe take a chance on Anderson now, and if he fails, pick up Hall, the backup QB there that should be better), Palmer? (drafted probably), Cassel, I even like Young this year (watch for the ressurgance, it will happen!)
WR R. Wayne, R. White, M. Floyd, B. Edwards, J. Jones (Houston) - Once again insanely good WR's for a 12 team league where u need to start 3. Edward is expendable for WW moves. Hopefully gets the WR2 job in HOU, he should! Floyd will be a great WR in both the NFL and Fantasy.
RB A. Peterson, A. Foster, F. Jones, C. Portis - Love Your starting RB's (tried to get Foster as my RB2 in my leagues but he never made it too me), good backup in Felix although the Barberian will cont. to take the majority of his TD's (like Felix more in PPR), and like i said, not high on Portis, but with no flex and only being able to start 2 RB's u should be fine with ur 2 starting RB's as every week starters with felix filling in for bye weeks, still be on the lookout for a better RB4 (not crucial).
TE A. Gates - Great TE! Prob. end up being the best TE at the end of the year as long as SD's WR's are decent and keeps opposing DEF honest. (either him or Finley will be this years best TE)
K N. Rackers - Solid K
D Dallas, San Diego - Good DEF, better than ur last teams... SD is expendable if u want to play matchups via WW during the year, or if u just want to pick up another WR/RB or bye week filler for TE/K. DAL will be a very good DEF all year, dont drop them!

Another great team, especially in a 12 team league. If Kolb pans out (which I think he will), this team should be insanely dominant this year. Your only need right now is a better QB2 (although Kolb should be good if not great all year, and perhaps drop Edwards for another WR with more upside, and get a better RB4 (dont have too though).

GREAT DRAFTS, GREAT TEAMS!!

Great draft in the 12 team league. I see what you mean when you say 1/2 of the guys didn't know what they were doing. How did you manage to score all those great WRs and AP?

I'm not super hot on Kolb but you could've done worse considering all the great players you picked up in other positions.

Thanks for looking at mine.
