Wrap up the ball with both hands and lower the shoulder for the first down. I think he could have gotten the first and still not gotten hit had he just fell forward instead of hook sliding likea QB. Defenders werent that close to him when he went down..
Yeah, I'm certainly not excusing the action, but you have to admire him thinking about it that way. Still, unless you're coughing it up Shonn Greene style I think you need to just go with that you're used to doing.
Getting back to the main discussion on the thread, I think the Eagles fan who wasn't a believer might be having second thoughts now...
[Side note: did you see the block Owen Schmitt laid down early in the game? That looked nasty. I wish we'd stop giving all of our fullbacks to the Eagles.]
Darn, and I was hoping to see some smug, condescending "Sorry" and "Umm, No" posts.
Ummm... has anyone else been watching how good of a blocker McCoy has become? And obviously he's a huge screen play threat.
Currently the #5 RB in the game in our (standard) scoring... not bad for his ADP. Sure, better to have gotten Foster, and depending on your draft, you probably could have gotten them around the same time. But it's pretty hard to regret getting the #5 RB after round 2.

He's fourth in my league. I got him on a good trade preseason. And he has become an excellent blocker imho. Anyone who can stand Urlacher up and stop him cold without cutting, and isn't a DLineman, is pretty good.
So, with all this in mind, he's over 1300 all purpose yards and 7TDs, only one fumble. Where is he being taken next year in a redraft or dynasty? Is he a top 10 pick?

Easily a top-10 pick in PPR. Not so sure in standard leagues. Eagles RB don't seem to get a lot of goal-line carries. Especially with Vick as QB.
He's legit. It's the same deal every year. People are slow to accept new guys and slow to give up on old guys. Like Jamaal Charles this year, people kept complaining and degrading him every week until he became a top-5 back and they were shamed to silence. Or LT last year, when he was clearly out of form and people hung on to him.
I will admit I was wrong. McCoy has taken over gracefully for Westbrook. His game has greatly improved. I didn't think he would be this effective. The only real issue is that he gets caught from behind sonetimes. But he certaily is an every week RB1.
