I was just curious as to who you guys favorite players are in the more notable sports.Feel free to tack on any additional sports if you want.
NFL-Hines "Psycho" Ward, used to be Lambert,Blount,or Shell when I was younger.
MLB-Fred "Crimedog" McGriff, used to be Davey Concepcion.
NBA-"The Answer" Allen Iverson,I'm a Sixer & Hoya fan so this is good.
NHL-Not a big fan but I'll say Mario Lemieux, met him,not a real nice guy but a good hockey player.
Others:
NASCAR-Mark Martin-I remember him in the Stroh's car,the originators of the 30-pack.Now it's Viagra,he was stiff competition this year but fell short of the title.
Boxing-Lennox Lewis-I liked him before he was champ, great strategist.
NFL - Doug Flutie. Yeah, I know. He rides the pine behind Drew Brees and maybe he'll never start another NFL game, but to me he's the most exciting player still active. Prior to that, Bo Jackson. There are maybe two or three players in the history of pro football with Jackson's athleticism, and I've never seen Holmes or Faulk pull off some of the better moves of Jackson or Dickerson.
I don't really watch any other pro team sports. I'm impressed with many of the pro racers that they can continue their achievements from year to year despite the amount of competition.
Kerri Strug's clutch performance in the '96 Olympics brought home the Gold and will always be fondly remembered. To do what she did with an injured ankle was incredible. Very similar to this year's Donovan McNabb scoring four touchdowns with a broken foot. Hardly what you'd expect from a teenager, however.
nfl - lavar arrington, the guys a beast, and im a skins fan. close second to champ bailey. i like darrell green too, the guy keeps a lickin and keeps on tickin.
mlb - pedro martinez. hes just cool, and i like the red sox.
nba - steve francis, a maryland grad and exciting to watch. my grandmother taught at his elementary school when he was there so she met him and dominique dawes (olympic gymnast if u heard of her) so i got connections... i wish anyway...
t-mac and big ben are up there too, but a distant second to stevie franchise!
nhl - duh... hockey... not much i know so ill say the new hometown hero JAROMIR JAGR!
NFL-- loved watching the Vikes and my favorite was Keith Millard. Ronnie Lott was a close second. Man did he just smoke people!! Now I like Urlacher. The guy is just ferocious!! Played O in high school, but love the D.
MLB--Kirby Puckett and Kent Hrbek. Big Twinkies fan. There are just a ton here.
Hockey--there are too many good hockey players. Neil Broten, Mario L., Gretzky, Steve Y, and the list goes on and on.
NFL - I loved watching LT and Walter Payton! They were style and grace!!
MLB - Reggie Jackson. Mr. October was simply great! I was at Yankee Stadium the day they honored him!! Truly amazing!!!
NBA - Not really a big fan nowadays, but I loved watching Barkley and Lambert play!! "No Blood, No Foul" is the only way to play!!!
NHL - Don't watch hockey much either...but when the Columbus Chill started playing, they had a guy nicknamed "Smurf"...He was hilarious!!
NASCAR - Dale Earnhardt...#3...RIP
I'll go a step farther and put on some of the following...
College Football - THE Ohio State University
College BBall - UC Bearcats and OSU
Wrestling - The NewAge Outlaws!! "Oh you didn't know? Your #$@ better call somebody!!!!!!!!"

nascar = Earnhardt sr. RIP and now Harvick, just because he is a spittin image of big e when he was young, little e hasnt made enough enemies to follow in his fathers footsteps completely.
