Well so far one of the only knocks on Rodgers is still there to start 2010; holding the ball too damn long.

He has such a talented group of WR/TE then he wants to wait cuz they will eventually get open, but a line can only protect so long man. Gotta get that ball out quicker, even if it means throwing it away instead of taking a 5-7 yard loss.

Then when he finally does get it out quick he makes his first read the decision to go with, only problem it was into triple coverage. Finley is a beast, but hes going to lose that battle every time. Some pretty piss poor choices on Rodgers part so far in quarter one of 2010.

Man I dunno I'm trying to figure this out. Outside of the Trent Cole sack, the other 2 can't be blamed on the line. The third one definitely was the line as Cole just blew around the outside. But the more I look at this the more I think about it...

Why, even if the line sucks, is he being sacked so much already? Reason I think is simply he doesn't want to just dump the ball off. He is trying to hard basically, instead of throwing it out of bounds, or dumping it off to his RB, he is instead pulling it down and trying to make more out of the play then its worth. Hes depending on his feet getting him out of trouble, which is all fine and dandy, but so far he hasn't had a very good feel in the pocket. 2 of the last 3 sacks could have been avoided by: sack #2 sliding to his right out of the pocket and sack #3 simply stepping up into the pocket. Neither of which he has does, instead he has tucked the ball and tried to take off and run.

Also I know its a GREAT thing to have a top receiving TE like Finely, but does it hurt just as much as help? Meaning, I'm watching the Eagles just eat the line up, so Grant is having to stay in and block, thus he Rodgers doesn't have his relief valve in a RB hanging around the line of scrimmage to dump off to. So why is it that all but maybe 2-3 plays have I seen Finley down field 20 yards, while Rodgers is laying on his back. Plus when Finley is going out on these pass plays, instead of being like most TE that will throw a chip on the DE to help out the Tackle, he isn't doing jack, too concerned on running his route.

There is a lot more then meets the eye so far in the first half then just saying the line sucks.

Weaver is done, possibly done for the year after that one.

THAT WAS NASTY. He got stood up, someone rolled into the front of his shin and his knee literally bent backwards the wrong way. Hyper extension is an understatement of that one. That looked terrible.
