Trading for Addai & Ocho. WHIR

Postby Sex Panther » Sat Sep 11, 2010 9:17 am

Okiedokie, so in a league I'm in it appears that some dude is trying to assemble a squad of Jets and Cowboys.

I was told this guy autodrafted (didn't think he'd end up w/ 1 overall), took Romo...

Trade pending his Dallas Clark for Jason Witten.

He just picked up John Conner from WW.

His squad...

QB Romo
RB Addai, Harrison, Maroney, C. Taylor, Conner
WR Ochocinco, Berrian, Breaston, Chambers
TE D. Clark (soon to be Witten), D. Clark (Bears)
K Gould
D Jets, Patirots

My squad...

QB Kolb, Garrard (in process on dropping for M. Bush)
RB AP, Foster, F. Jones, Portis (find out about Bush tomorrow)
WR Wayne, R. White, M. Floyd, B. Edwards, J. Jones (Houston)
TE Gates
K Rackers
D Dallas, San Diego

Starting lineups are as follows - QB/WR/WR/WR/RB/TE/K/D - no flex

So, what I'm thinking is offering...

F. Jones (a Cowboy), B. Edwards (a Jet), and Floyd for his Ochocinco & Addai.

I really like the upside of Jones & Floyd, however...

Ochocinco is a proven commodity, Addai is a proven commodity. D. Brown is currently available on the wire, I'd pick him up w/ the open slot from a 3 for 2.

I'd be able to roll out...

QB Kolb
WR Wayne, White, Ocho
RB AP, Foster/Addai
TE Gates

He'd be able to roll out

QB Romo
WR Floyd, Edwards, 1 of the other 3 scrubs
RB Jones, Harrison
TE Witten

Figure Addai & Jones is (to the masses) about a wash (I like Addai more)

Could get burt by Floyd or Jones if they blow up, could care less about Edwards.

What do you all think of this little idea of mine??

Thanks & WHIR

I think you are trading stability for risk. As long as Jones and Barber share time, I like Addai more. And barring injury, I think that will happen. I like Ocho more than Floyd or Jones.

I would make the trade and pick up Brown.

I think its a good trade for you. You're not even taking advantage of him, which you could probably get away with a little bit if he's that desperate to stockpile players from just 2 teams.

I also like the trade for you. I think Addai and Ochocinco are both a bit undervalued at this point. People aren't high on Addai but I think he actually carries the ball more and for a better avg yards per carry this season. Ocho, as you said, is proven and I think he'll still be option 1a. Palmer will also be better this year with more throws down the field. I think Addai and Ocho both have upside as well. They're just not as "hyped" as those other guys. Perfect time to get them before the season starts.

Thanks for the help on mine!

I like what youre doing here and I like Addai more than most people do as well. If it all goes through, make sure to handcuff D Brown. Ocho is proven and will put up numbers again this year, but Im also afraid that TO will hinder his numbers a bit. Im pretty high on Floyd, but Ocho is pretty much a sure thang! good luck!

Thanks for the help with mine.

I have a ? first: In your league you stated "Starting lineups are as follows - QB/WR/WR/WR/RB/TE/K/D - no flex"

So you are only starting 1 RB? If that is correct I would more opt for a Jones/ Edwards for Ochocinco trade. You would still have Floyd on your bench and Ocho to fill one of your 3 WR spots. With only 1 RB spot and AP filling that I don't see much gain in Addai. You have Foster for bye week fill in.

Now if I'm wrong and you start 2 RB's scratch all I said and go for the original trade.
