Drop Daniels and pick up Olsen...WHIR

Postby Coz1 » Sat Sep 11, 2010 10:15 pm

Should I drop Owen Daniels and pick up Greg Olsen. I think Daniels will have the better season, but not this week. Both are kind of a toss up this week, but I think Olsen will play the whole game and Detroit's secondary isn't very good and it soumnds like Daniels will be limited coming off ACL surgery.

Thoughts?

do you have to drop Daniels, or do you have some other bench fodder you can lose? I agree that starting Daniels this week is not so good, but I had him last year before the injury and know he can throw up big pts. I'm actually in the same boat, starting Olsen this week with Daniels on the bench.

There are mixed reports in Houston as to how much Daniels will play. He says he wants to play 40 snaps and earlier in the weak the rumor was he would only see about 20. I don't think its worth it to drop him for Olsen. Daniels was huge last year before he went down last year... With Andre Johnson to worry about defenses are liable to give up a ton of yards to Daniels this year. I would roll the dice with him this week and see how many snaps he plays. He should be playing all snaps by week 2.

Good luck!

I definitely hang onto Daniels, if he's healthy he's a top 3 TE in my opinion. Olsen is good but Mike Martz historically doesn't use his TE to do much but block so I have a ton of questions about him this year. You will be able to grab someone with the production of Olsen later if Daniels goes down, but no one with his upside will be available all year (except maaaaybe Fred Davis is Cooley goes down).

I do agree that starting Owens this week is a little shaky.. But

Don't screw up your roster and team just for 1 week of points.. Dropping Owens will be like dropping Clark... He will BloW up.. He just needs to knock the rust off.. If you drop him, you'll be kicking your self in the butt for the rest of the season..

I would not drop O. Daniels for G. Olsen. I'm pretty sure that in a Martz' offense the TEs are used primarily for blocking and receive almost no targets. I'd say wait at least a week to see how G. Olsen is utilized in the offense before starting him at all.

I would drop LT and pick up Olsen. Although I am not big on Olsen this year... but I would not lose Daniels either way.
